After watching the splendid North Carolina and Kentucky thriller, it has to be scary to the rest of the SEC what the Wildcats have ability-wise. Kentucky really does not have a consistent outside presence they can count presently, but the number of players that can score inside of 12 feet or power to the rim, looks like the lines this December at Target. Sophomore Doron Lamb is the ‘Cats best jump shooter and 6-10 freshman Anthony Davis is a double-double machine. Kentucky is 6-0 ATS in road games versus teams making 48% or more of their shots the last three seasons.
Since arriving at Indiana, coach Tom Crean has been preaching the importance of being physically tough, sharing the basketball and playing suffocating defense. For the first time since he’s been in Hoosier-land he has the right chemistry of players that will listen. Indiana is playing with more confidence than seen in years and players like sophomore Victor Oladipo is a potential Sports Center highlight every time the Hoosiers play. Freshman center Cody Zeller will have to deal with Kentucky’s big guys and stay out of foul trouble. The Hoosiers will have to drain a number of trey’s to push the Wildcats. Indiana is 9-20 ATS versus teams who are called for 17 or less fouls a game.
