On Sunday afternoon, we have identified two favorites that have the goods to pound their opponent into submission. Here is the complete breakdown.

Baltimore (6-9, -3.86 RL units) at Boston (2-13, -12.2 RL units)

It’s been a terrible start to the season for Boston and at the moment, Red Sox fans are flabbergasted by what they have seen. There starting pitching is laughable (not to BoSox fans), with an ERA over 8.00, which is the worst in the majors. Today, they will try to salvage the home series against Baltimore, which is an embarrassment of its own.

David Price (0-1, 6.00 ERA) has contributed to Boston’s woes for a staff that is next to last in their league in home runs allowed. But Baltimore is not a good team and by the end of the season will have lost over 100 games again.

The Orioles will start lefthander John Means (1-1, 2.08), who will make his second start and fifth appearance of the season. The rookie is taking the spot of an injured Alex Cobb. Of the Boston hitters expected to be on the lineup card Sunday, they are 5 for 7 against Means.

Why the Red Sox Cover: Even with yesterday’s loss, Boston should come out swinging. They are 22-6 at Fenway in Price’s last 28 starts and 11-1 when he takes the ball against a losing team and a perfect 7-0 at home.  For MLB picks, let’s finish it off with the Red Sox 7-0 against the Birds of late when Price toes the rubber to start the game.
