Let’s move ahead to Wednesday for Line Moves and explore a couple of NBA games along with a pair in college hoops. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (67-56-3 run) to see what we are thinking this week. See you back here Friday.

NBA – (701) WASHINGTON at (702) CHARLOTTE  7:05 ET   CSMA, FSCR

This is one of the more intriguing line moves in the NBA in recent weeks. The total in this Southeast Divisional clash has risen from 211.5 to 214. For my money what makes this fascinating is how inconsistent both offenses have been over there last several games.  Washington has been anywhere from 95 to 125 points in their past five games and Charlotte’s gone from 91 to 131 over their last six contests. In that time both have averaged over 110 PPG, yet I’m going the other way with the Wizards 15-5 UNDER on the road.

Betting Trend – 66% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

NBA – (717) UTAH at (718) SACRAMENTO  10:05 ET  NBC-SAC

This has to be sharp action, because a normal bettor is not going to give a crap about a total with two lousy clubs unless something is really out of whack. This total is up three points to 204.5. On the surface, this makes little sense with Utah 28th in scoring in the NBA and Sacramento dead last. However, the Kings defense is nothing special and the Jazz have not held an opponent under 99 points in 10 games. With Utah 8-1 OVER on the road after two or more losses, time to go with the flow.

Trend – 93% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

CBB – (745) AUBURN at (746) ALABAMA  7:00 ET  SECN

While coach Bruce Pearl might not be the most savory character in college basketball, the dude can coach. Despite not having two of its better players, Auburn is 16-1 this season and has been the best squad in the SEC. They opened as a Pick against arch rival Alabama and were moved to -2.5 road faves. The Tigers are balanced team with many ways to score and they holding opponents to under 40 percent shooting. The Crimson Tide can win this contest, but they are so inconsistent on offense, not sure how you trust them.

Betting Trend – 54% backing Alabama

Doug’s VPID Take – Auburn covers

CBB – (767) UTAH STATE at (768) BOISE STATE  9:00 ET   STADIUM (internet only)

In the MWC, hoops bettors either think Boise State is looking ahead or Utah State is undervalued, as the Aggies have slide from +12 to +10 as road dogs. The second place Broncos are at first place Nevada on Saturday and might not give Utah State their full attention. The Aggies are on only 3-7 on the road (4-5 ATS), but they upset UNLV and do knockdown nine 3-pointers a contest. Though I really go like the Boise bunch, they are 3-12 ATS after playing a game where both teams score 80 points or more and I’ll grab the +10 points.

Betting Trend – 76% backing Utah State

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Utah State
