Let’s move on ahead to Thursday for line moves shall we. On the docket is one good NBA contest, a couple of low key college hoops games and yes, NHL action. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (60-49-2 run) to see what we are thinking this week. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA – (503) CLEVELAND at (504) TORONTO  8:05 ET   TNT

Kyle Lowry ‘doubtful’ for Toronto, no problem, keep adding up the points according to sports bettors. The total in this televised tilt is up from 218.5 to 222.5. In each team’s past five outings, the points have been plentiful, with Cleveland’s average total score 223.2 and the Raptors at 228.4. I will go contrarian, because I think the loss of Lowry does hurt Toronto to a degree, Plus, when the Cavaliers have allowed the opponent to shoot over 50 percent in two straight games this season (3 times), they have surrendered 101.3 PPG in next outing.

Betting Trend – 54% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (525) JAMES MADISON at (526) WILLIAM & MARY 7:00 ET

VPID members are well familiar with my “crush” on William & Mary this season. And why shouldn’t I be, they are 9-1 ATS and the second-best shooting team in the country at 52.1 percent. That is why I found it vexing they have fallen from -11 to -8 at home against a 4-13 James Madison team. I looked all over for injuries for Bill and Mar and if the Dukes have a hot shot transfer coming in. I got zilch. If there is something I missed I apologize, but for me it is the Tribe or nothing.

Betting Trend – 83% backing William & Mary

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean William & Mary covers (lean because of possible injury)

CBB – (529) GEORGIA SOUTHERN at (530) COASTAL CAROLINA  7:30 ET

In the Sun Belt, we have a flipper, with Coast Carolina flipped from +1 to -2 over Georgia Southern. I wish I had a good reason to tell you why this happened, but I don’t. In reviewing all the stats and possible situations, almost any of scenario with either being a short favorite would work. I’m going to lean with Georgia Southern because of better record, being slightly better defensive group and stronger rebounding team.

Betting Trend – 55% backing Coastal Carolina

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Georgia Southern

NHL – (51) COLUMBUS at (52) BUFFALO  7:35 ET  FSOH, MSG-BU

If it were not for Arizona, Buffalo would be the worst team in the NHL. At 10-33 SU and latest losing streak at five, it was head-scratcher to see the Sabres drop from +140 to +125 home underdog to Columbus. The Blue Jackets are not playing as well as last season to this point, yet, they have won three of four and three straight over Buffalo.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Columbus

Doug’s VPID Take – Columbus wins
