VPID Line Moves and Free Picks for Feb. 9-11

Big weekend of action and we have the line moves for Friday and what to anticipate all weekend long for sports betting. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (92-76-3 run) to see what we are thinking this week. See you back here next week

NBA – (811) MINNESOTA at (812) CHICAGO  9:35 ET  ESPN

Not exactly must-see TV, but Jimmy Butler does return to Chicago for the first time, so that is possibly as compelling as Olympic cross-country skiing. Anyways, I guess we are supposed to see more scoring then anticipated as the total is up two points to 217.5 at the House That Jordan Built. Once again, I don’t know if a team like the Bulls have enough offense to push past this number and Chicago is 8-0 UNDER at home coming off of three away games.

Betting Trend – 87% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

Have a hockey game to talk about and it is a flipper. Los Angeles opened as -115 road faves and are now catching around +103 on the money line at Florida. The Kings start a long road trip in Miami and have won five of seven. However, they are facing a hot Panthers crew that is on a four-game win streak, thanks to a piping hot goaltender named Harri Sateri. At 28, hard to imagine Sateri is a rookie, but he’s only allowed 10 goals in five starts and will between the pipes despite No.1 netminder James Reimer back on active roster today after being injured. Why in the H E double hockey sticks not take Florida, who is 6-0 at home after allowing two goals or less in two straight games this season.

Betting Trend – 84% backing Los Angeles

Doug’s VPID Take – Florida

CBB – Saturday (521) BUTLER at (522) VILLANOVA  12:00 ET  FOX

Villanova is coming off a shocking loss to St. John’s and is facing the only other team to beat them. Butler would appear to be in a nasty scheduling spot and would have to make a lot of three’s to stay connected.

Anticipated Line – Villanova by 9 to 11 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Villanova covers (at these numbers)

CBB – Saturday (617) TENNESSEE at (618) ALABAMA  6:00 ET  SECN

Alabama is like most teams in the SEC, on any given game they could play great or flop. Tennessee is far more consistent and is 7-1 ATS on the road. The Crimson Tide covering would not be surprised, but the best bet should be the UNDER if we get a fair number.

Anticipated Line – Tennessee by 3 to 5 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

CBB – Saturday  (621) PURDUE at (622) MICHIGAN STATE  4:00 ET  ESPN

Purdue had won 19 games in a row and in the space of a couple days, they could fall out of first place. The Boilermakers have not covered five in a row and has to slow the pace to keep Michigan State from running them off the court. Whoever controls the pace for 30 minutes is your winner.

Anticipated Line – Michigan State by 1 to 3 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Michigan State

CBB – Saturday (681) USC at (682) ARIZONA  10:15 ET  ESPN

Both these Pac-12 clubs are coming off very disappointing losses and want to rebound badly. USC has no chance to win if they are -12 in turnover margin again like they were against Arizona State. Arizona has the best talent in the conference, yet they still are not a cohesive unit and can be beaten if the Trojans show patience. At these numbers, USC at can cover.

Anticipated Line – Arizona by 6 to 8 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Arizona

CBB – Saturday   (679) GONZAGA at (680) ST. MARY’S   10:00 ET  ESPN2

This is rather simple if St. Mary’s center Jock Landale has 26 points and 12 rebounds like in the first meeting, the Gaels win again. If not, Gonzaga can tie their main rival atop the WCC. This should be fun!

Anticipated Line – St. Mary’s by 3 to 5 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean St. Mary’s

NBA – Saturday (509) SAN ANTONIO at (510) GOLDEN STATE  8:35 ET  ABC

Golden State is a bad bet at home with 10-15-3 ATS mark, winning by just 7.3 PPG. San Antonio continues to hang in but the last month has struggled versus teams that have the same or better talent.

Anticipated Line – Golden State by 5 to 7 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Golden State

NBA  – Sunday (803) CLEVELAND at (804) BOSTON  3:35 ET  ABC

Cleveland is younger and more athletic, but it will take several games to start to begin to have an accurate read on them. Nevertheless, it still will be about LeBron and Kyrie.

Anticipated Line – Boston by 4 to 6 points (based on Cavs previous team)

Doug’s VPID Take – A guess on Boston right now
