It’s Mother’s Day weekend, do all the right things and even a couple more, because she has always made everything go. Speaking of keeping everything moving, here are five line moves and top trends which are in play starting today. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. Special Notice – This Saturday, May 9th we’re excited to host an MLB $3 entry contest with the 1st place prize being a trip for two (2) to this year’s MLB All Star Game!  This includes airfare ($1,000 credit), hotel accommodations, two (2) tickets to the Home Run Derby and two (2) tickets to the MLB All-Star Game (please note that the winner and participants must be 21 years of age or older.)

NBA – (719) HOUSTON at (720) L.A. CLIPPERS  10:35 ET  ESPN

L.A. ClippersThough nothing official, those placing NBA picks are anticipating Chris Paul will return tonight. What level of competency he will be at will have to be seen to know, but basketball bettors have helped adjust the Clippers from -2.5 to -4.5. CP3’s possible return is not the only reason for the Clips being raised two points, Houston has not played like they are good enough to contain Blake Griffin and the rest of L.A. and if Paul is even 70 percent, you have to like their chances. One Debbie Downer moment, the Clippers are 0-9 ATS in Game 3 of a playoff series. Doug’s Choice – Los Angeles covers

NBA Saturday(721) ATLANTA at (722) WASHINGTON  5:05 ET  ESPN

The news broke on Thursday John Wall has five non-displaced fractures in his injured left wrist and hand and his status for the rest of the Eastern Conference semifinal series against Atlanta is in doubt. Washington opened as one-point home favorite and has been switched to a +3.5 point underdog. The Wizards might be worth a peek on the half point hook for Game 3 at home but this series could be over. Doug’s Choice – Slight lean with Washington

MLB – (913) MIAMI at (914) SAN FRANCISCO  10:15 ET  FSN-FL, CSN-BAY

If you think baseball bettors are convinced Tim Lincecum (2-2, 2.40 ERA) is regaining some of past glory, guess again. Tiny Tim’s earned run average is vastly improved to begin the season and left-handed batters are hitting only .184 against his tosses. Yet the Giants are down 15 cents on the money like to -120. Not trusting Lincecum is one aspect plus he’s 0-3 with a 5.26 ERA in his last four outings versus Miami. And do not sell the Marlins Jarred Cosart (1-2, 2.97) short, though they are only 1-4 in his starts, Miami has only scored eight runs in those four losses and the right-hander has a respectable ERA. Miami has won 11 of 15 at AT&T Park. Doug’s Choice – Lean Miami

MLB – (915) KANSAS CITY at (916) DETROIT 7:05 ET  FSN-KC,  FSN-D

The top two teams in the AL Central will do battle once again and it is all but guaranteed to be more interesting than Mayweather vs. Pacquiao. With the Tigers utilizing David Price (3-1, 2.93) in the opener, sportsbooks made Detroit a -165 favorite. Those generating sports picks strongly went the other way in taking Kansas City, lowering the Tigers more than 20 cents to under -145. Price is 2-0 with a 1.16 ERA in five appearances against the Royals (four starts) but volatile Yordano Ventura (2-2, 4.94) is 9-2 as a road underdog of +100 or higher the last two seasons. (Royals record) Though K.C. has good qualities to consider, I think the Price is right in Game 1 of this series. Doug’s Choice – Detroit wins

NHL – (7) ANAHEIM at (8) CALGARY   9:35 ET  NBCSN

Goaltenders Frederik Anderson for Anaheim and Karri Ramo for Calgary were not very sharp in allowing seven total goals in only 38 shot attempts between the two teams in Game 3. Both hope to be better and those studying the NHL odds expect the top-seeded Ducks to build a 3-1 lead in the series and altered them from -135 to -150 favorites. Anderson faced only 21 shots, which says the defense was doing pretty good work in from of him because the Flames had six power play chances. Anaheim also dominated the face-offs, winning 40 of 59 and should move to 12-2 in away games after playing in a contest in which both teams scored three or more times. Doug’s Choice Anaheim wins
