Vegas Pro Insiders Daily Line Moves and Top Trends for Thursday

Unless you live the Pacific or Mountain Time Zones, the chances of you seeing the final scores are rather remote given the times and locations of games. However, not all these line moves are from people west of the muddy Mississippi River, thus there will be interested parties following this action.  Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. Atlanta BravesWith San Francisco a super 19-7 this month, I can certainly understand why the Giants opened as -125 home favorites against Atlanta. What I cannot understand why they would move to -140 against one of the top pitchers in the NL in the Braves Shelby Miller (5-1, 1.50 ERA). The Atlanta right-hander has been awesome all season and the Braves are 8-1 when he is their starter and they will be taking swings against inconsistent Chris Heston (4-3, 4.33) who has a 6.48 ERA in last three outings. Should the Giants be favored, certainly, but at this rate that is extra baggage against a quality pitcher who is 9-5 as an underdog. (Team’s Record)  Doug’s Choice – Lean San Francisco

MLB – (907) N.Y. YANKEES at (908) OAKLAND  10:05 ET  YES, CSN-CA

Have to be forthright, not seeing why the total would sink from 8 to 7.5 with a pitching matchup of CC Sabathia (2-6, 5.47 ERA) vs. Kendall Graveman (2-2, 6.04). Sabathia has lost his fastball and secondary pitches have no bite and he’s being regularly tagged. Graveman allowed three hits and had a season-high six strikeouts in six innings of a 5-0 win at Tampa Bay on Saturday after being recalled from Triple A. However at home, he’s lost both of his starts, surrendering 14 runs and 16 hits – three homers – in eight innings. With Oakland’s pathetic bullpen, they are 15-5 OVER at home when the total is 7 to 8.5 this season. Doug’s Choice – Play Over

MLB – (911) CLEVELAND at (912) SEATTLE  10:10 ET  STO, ROOT-NW

This is a quality pitching battle with Corey Kluber (2-5, 3.49) opposing James Paxton (3-2, 3.52). Kluber is the defending AL Cy Young winner and at one point this season had a 7.43 ERA, but in his past three starts has pitched at least eight innings in each and put up a remarkable 0.72 ERA and now leads the league in punchouts. Paxton was 0-2 with 6.86 ERA in his first four trips up the hill but has a 1.59 ERA in his last five and has rattled off three straight wins. Despite the recent performances, those placing MLB picks at sportsbooks found the total of 6.5 too low and bumped it to 7. The Cleveland offense has perked up, but Kluber is 14-3 UNDER vs. AL teams scoring 4.2 or less runs a game the last two seasons and with the Mariners traveling cross-country from Clearwater yesterday, this should set up as low-scoring affair.  Doug’s Choice – Play Under
