Besides the big four line moves I have here in baseball and the Stanley Cup Finals, baseball bettors are certain the Cardinals will not be swept in Colorado, lifting them 35 cents to -155 against a pitcher who has yet to lose this season. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll. (12-9 L5D)

MLB – (955) MILWAUKEE at (956) PITTSBURGH  7:05 ET  FSN-W, ROOT-P

One of the hottest teams in baseball has been shocked by one of the worst the last two nights as Milwaukee marched into Pittsburgh like it 1995 and took the first two games of the series. Though the Pirates opened as -160 favorites to avoid the sweep, there is at least enough interest on the underdog and Pitt is down to -145. The Bucs offense has gone meat locker cold scoring one run in the series and just eight in their past four games. Help could be on the way in the name of Kyle Lohse (3-6, 6.59 ERA), who as an ERA of 10.44 in his past three starts for the Brewers. While not quite as brutal, it is close with the Milwaukee right-hander posting a 9.35 ERA in his past three outings versus Pittsburgh. With the Pirates 17-4 after two or more consecutive home games this season, have to like their chances.

MLB – (967) L.A.A. ANGELS at (968) TAMPA BAY  7:10 ET  FSN-W, SUN

The Angels ended their five-game skid last night in Clearwater 8-2 and those constructing MLB picks are not convinced the Orange County crew can make it a winning streak. The Halos with Jered Weaver (4-5, 4.60) were -115 favorites on the overnight line but with a dawning of a new day, they are +105 underdogs to Tampa Bay. Though Weaver has largely overcome his dreadful start with a 1.98 ERA in five straight outings, he allowed a season-high seven runs and nine hits with three home runs in 5 2/3 innings at Yankee Stadium, leaving bettors to wonder if he’s returning to prior form. Erasmo Ramirez (4-2, 5.10) takes the ball for the Rays and despite is high ERA, he is 4-1 with a 2.86 ERA in five starts since re-entering the rotation on May 14. The outcome could hinge on what Rays pitchers do with Albert Pujols, who has a scalding .395 batting average with eight home runs in his last 11 games.

MLB – (971) HOUSTON at (972) CHIC. WHITE SOX  8:10 ET   ROOT-SW, WPWR

Reality has made a house call to the Astros locker room and all those strikeouts and weaker starting pitching beyond Dallas Keuchel has come to roost in losing six in a row. Houston as scored 15 total runs in this stretch and after being the best road wagers in baseball with as 12-3 start, they are 3-10 since. Having found lightning in a bottle with rookie Lance McCullers (2.32 ERA in five starts), Astros GM Jeff Luhnow rubs the magic genie lantern again and elevates Vincent Velasquez, who will make his major league debut after going 3-0 with a 1.37 ERA in five starts at Double-A. With Chicago’s Jose Quintana (2-6, 4.28) not inspiring, the White Sox have crumbled from -135 to -120 or less depending on the sportsbook. Quintana and the Pale Hose are only 5-12 as a favorite of -110 or higher since last year and 5-16 at The Cell after two or more W’s. A mystery pitcher is always a wild card, which is why I’ll lean with the home team.

NHL – (7) TAMPA BAY at (8) CHICAGO  8:05 ET  NBCSN

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.com Chicago has lost two straight by one goal each to Tampa Bay as Corey Crawford has been merely average in net and the Lightning’s long pass offense has been altered from up the middle to the along the boards and the Blackhawks have had problems adjusting. But those making NHL picks have confidence Chicago will adjust on home ice and not lose two in a row and skated them from -150 to -165, with most believing it will be even higher by game time. Everyone understands how good this team and their coach Joel Quenneville are under pressure and making adjustments and since the coach has been there, the Hawks are 40-17 in playoff Games 4-7, compared to .500 (30-30) in the first three.
