It’s been a rough go for Boston. Having to open with 11 road games was horrific and then they lost the home opener 7-5 as -250 home favorites, with Chris Sale ineffective again as a starter. The starting pitching is the worst in baseball (8.78 ERA) and last year’s top-ranked offense has not started to churn, averaging more than a full run less to start the season (4.2 vs. 5.5 RPG).

Toronto has not done much either, other than beating the Red Sox on Tuesday. Prior to that the Blue Jays had lost seven of eight. The seven runs Toronto tallied at Fenway is the high-water mark of a very young season, as they are only averaging 3.0 runs a game.

The MLB odds from the sportsbooks are still giving the BoSox ample respect as they are -180 money line favorites. The listed starters are Aaron Sanchez (1-1, 1.64 ERA) for the Jays and Nathan Eovaldi (0-0, 8.10) for the Sawx.
