College football has closed its doors with Alabama the national champions, which leads to more wagering action on buckets and pucks. Here are today’s main Line Moves and possible reasoning behind them. Always review the nuggets since they are worth a look.

    NBA – (519) PHOENIX at (520) L.A. LAKERS 10:30 EST FSAZ, FSW

These two Pacific Division rivals both rank in the top 8 in points allowed in defense (Phoenix, really?) in the NBA, yet bettors are not certain that trend will continue. The oddsmakers opening total of 187.5 did not stay there long and has been lifted to 190. The Lakers are still adapting to coach Mike Brown’s more defensive style and will have breakdowns, while the Suns roster is no longer filled with shooters. Nine of the previous 14 meetings have gone Over, but these are different rosters and Phoenix is 13-3 UNDER in road games after covering four of their last five against the spread. 3DW Position – Play Over

CBB – (553) EVANSVILLE at (554) INDIANA STATE  7:00 EST

Evansville makes the short trek over to Terre Haute for this Missouri Valley conflict. The Purple Aces will be doing so as a larger underdog than they were last evening. Evansville began as six-point pooch and was jettisoned to eight, despite ranking third in the Valley at 72.3 points per game. The Aces suffer on the defensive side of the ball in permitting 47 percent shooting by their opponents. Indiana State got off to a quick 9-2 start, but the advent of league play has seen them fall to 10-5, with a faulty offense that now the worst in the conference at 64.1 PPG. Both clubs are struggling, but giving this many points for a Sycamores squad that is 16-30 ATS at home off two straight MVC losses appears risky.3DW Position – Evansville covers

    CBB – (561) BRADLEY at (562) DRAKE 8:00 EST

In other MVC action, Drake might have lost their last two outings, but they are thought to be in a much better situation than Bradley. The Braves has fallen seven straight times and outside senior forward Taylor Brown (18.8 PPG), the offensive options are few for team averaging 59.7 PPG on the road. Drake at least can line up other scorers besides guard Rayvonte Rice (18.1 PPG). The Bulldogs were initially 7.5-point home favorites and have been bumped to -9. With the increased spread differential, Bradley might be able to take advantage of the lack of ball movement by Drake who is averaging just 10.5 assists a contest. The Braves are 7-0 ATS in road games versus poor passing teams averaging 12 or fewer assists. 3DW Position – Bradley covers

    NHL – (67) SAN JOSE vs. (68) MINNESOTA  7:35 EST  NBCSN,TSN2

San Jose is surging while Minnesota is colder than one of its 10,000 lakes. The Sharks have won four in a row and eight of 10 and is atop of the Pacific Division. Since the Wild’s seven-game winning streak was snapped on Dec. 13, they have lost 10 of 11, with their offense ice cold, scoring 1.5 goals per game in this stretch. Hockey bettors have picked up on this and altered San Jose from -138 on the money line to -155. With Minnesota slumping, it is curious to note the Sharks are 16-21 having won eight or more of their last 10 games. 3DW Position – San Jose wins
