Top Line Moves for Friday and Weekend Betting Tips

With the baseball season about 60 percent completed by the end of the weekend, we will delve into the top Line Moves of important games for this Friday. As always, review the tasty trend nuggets at the bottom of the page.

MLB – (901) ATLANTA at (902) WASHINGTON  7:05 EDT  PTV, MASN

Atlanta trails Washington by 3.5 games in the NL East standings as they open up a four-game weekend series. Both teams have been playing good baseball of late and tonight features a terrific pitching matchup between Tommy Hanson (10-5, 4.02 ERA) vs. Stephen Strasburg (10-4, 2.66). Oddsmakers made the Nationals a -155 money line favorite on the early line, but they have since been dropped to below -144. This would seem to be right in the Braves wheelhouse, since they and Hanson are 8-0 a road underdog of +100 or higher since last season. But, the Nats have had Atlanta’s number this season with 6-2 mark to date. 3DW Position – Atlanta wins

MLB – (903) MIAMI at (904) PITTSBURGH  7:05 EDT  FSFL, RT

Pittsburgh returns to PNC Park after halving a six-game road trip. The Pirates are a major league best 29-14 (+15.1 units) at home as they start a series with Miami, who is 20-24 away from South Florida. Pittsburgh will have Kevin Correia (6-6, 4.25) toe the slab initially, as he looks to match a career-best of four straight wins. Despite Correia’s recent success, his ERA in his last three outings is 5.29, with his teammates having scored 26 runs in those contests. With the Marlins having won six of their last seven in the Steel City and Ricky Nolasco (8-7, 4.47) a notorious quality play away from home (Miami is 24-14 in this situation), the Bucs have gone from -120 to -107.  3DW Position – Miami wins

MLB – (907) MILWAUKEE at (908) CINCINNATI  7:10 EDT  FSWI, FSOH (side and total)

Sports bettors continue to make adjustments on Cincinnati with Joey Votto out of the lineup. The Reds were released by line makers at -145 and have crumbled to -120 or less. Homer Bailey (8-6, 3.93) will try and prove these money-users wrong, having three consecutive wins and a 1.99 ERA to show he can do the job. It certainly is worth noting that Bailey is 0-5 with a 6.50 ERA in 10 career starts versus the Brewers and Milwaukee is 9-1 after scoring four runs or less in three straight games. The total has also been altered from 9 to 8.5 and the Brew Crew is 13-2 UNDER after scoring four runs or less five times in a row. Nevertheless, just remember, Bailey is 9-1 OVER after giving up one or less earned runs his last time out. 3DW Position – Cincinnati wins and Over

MLB – (917) BALTIMORE at (918) CLEVELAND  7:05 EDT  MASN2, STO

Baltimore will play their second straight four-game road series, this time in Cleveland. After having one the better pitching staffs in the American League earlier in the season, all the Orioles hurlers have worn down and they have drifted downward and are now 10th in runs allowed at 4.7. The O’s are using their ninth different starting pitcher with Miguel Gonzalez (1-1, 2.59); whose made three descent starts after being in the bullpen until recently. Derek Lowe’s (8-7, 4.43) record doesn’t look like much, however he’s enjoyed his new surroundings and is 5-1 with 2.86 ERA at Progressive Field. In this encounter, the total has been the focus, rising from 9 to 9.5, despite the Indians 14-5 UNDER record after five or more consecutive road games this season. 3DW Position – Play Under

MLB – (927) N.Y. YANKEES at (928) OAKLAND  10:05 EDT  YES, CSCA

Oakland finally ended their losing streak to New York at nine and goes after another victory over the Yankees. Those betting on baseball are giving a chance, taking them from -135 to -124, with Tommy Milone (9-6, 3.54) throwing for the Athletics. The Bronx Bombers have hammered left-handed pitching all year, scoring 5.6 runs a game, which has resulted in a 21-11 record. Nonetheless, the A’s lefty has held opponents to a .177 batting average at home and Milone and mates are 11-3 off a win. 3DW Position – New York wins
