Thought Provoking Line Moves and Free Picks for Mar. 10th

Today, the big boys come out to play in many of the bigger conferences or we start making our way to the semis in other leagues. Regardless, we have the biggest line moves covered for you today. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (12-4 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

CBB – (519) MICHIGAN STATE vs. (520) MINNESOTA 2:30 ET ESPN (side and total) Though Tom Izzo is highly respected, those betting basketball are not that convinced this Michigan State can get the job done against a Minnesota team they have already beaten this season and  shifted Sparty from a Pick to +2. Some bettors are counting on the old adage of it is hard to beat a team three times in a year (which is not as true as it used to be) or that the Golden Gophers will put the bad loss they had against Wisconsin behind them and build on recent 8-1 SU record. The total is declining also in this Big Ten battle down, from 140 to 137 and the Spartans are12-4 UNDER on neutral floors. I agree, I like Gophers here.

Betting Trend – 58% backing Michigan State and 73% on Over

Doug’s VPID TakeLeans Minnesota and Under

CBB – (529) GEORGE MASON vs. (530) VCU 6:00 ET  NBCSN (side and total)

VCU enters the A-10 fray in the quarterfinals taking on George Mason for the second time in six days. The Rams won as 72-60 as 12.5-point home favorites and they have been moved from -9 to -11 faves. Seems like quite a few points on a neutral court and George Mason is 8-2 ATS after playing a game as favorite. The total has also dipped, down two digits to 140.5 and five of the last six meetings have resulted in UNDER’s.

Betting Trend – 55% backing VCU and 79% on Under

CBB – (551) TROY vs. (552) GEOR. SOUTHERN 7:30 ET W- ESPN

The largest total adjustment of the day is taking place in Sun Belt, which hasseen this contest fall a whopping five points, all the way to 151. What has alarmed basketball bettors about these two clubs, there recent play. For the season, Troy averages 78.8 PPG, but in the last five tries, the Trojans are 69.6 PPG. The same is true of Georgia Southern, who was rolling along at 76.5 PPG and the Eagles have really been off target in registering only 66.8 PPG. Both matchups this season were easy Over’s and I’ll forecast both squads are back to normal and take the OVER.

Betting Trend – 88% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over

CBB – (563) XAVIER vs. (564) CREIGHTON 9:00 ET  FS1

In a stunner, Xavier upset Butler last night, which was the Musketeers first win against somebody not named DePaul since Feb. 4th. Back than Xavier had all hands on deck before injures mounted. The Musketeers are back to playing defense like we are used to seeing and in their Big East semi-final with Creighton, the total has drifted downward from 152 to 148. Neither team has its full complement of players like they did in earlier game and a lower final score makes sense.

Betting Trend – 92% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

Public Consensus Record (2017) – 51% to 79% – 55-65 ATS

Public Consensus Record (2017) – 80% or Higher – 26-37-1 ATS
