NBA – (801) MINNESOTA at (802) WASHINGTON 7:05 ET FSN, CSMA
Since John Wall returned to the lineup for Washington, they are averaging 98.9 points a contest, which is a considerable improvement over their season average of 90.9 PPG. Everything has not gone as well for Minnesota, who lost Kevin Love 10 games ago and has suffered eight losses in that span. Recent injuries to PG Alexey Shved and center Nikola Pekovic have further curtailed the Timberwolves effectiveness and they are totaling just 91.5 PPG in this stretch. Basketball bettors believe Washington will control the tempo and sent the total from 185 to 186.5. With the Wizards having covered the spread eight times in a row, they are 12-1 UNDER off three or more covers. S-W Take – Play Under
Tampa Sports has the highest NBA win percentage (80%) at the monitor.
NBA – (807) MILWAUKEE at (808) CLEVELAND 7:35 ET FSWI, FSOH
The Bucks have won six of eight since firing Scott Skiles as their coach, with the offense more free-flowing, playing with greater confidence. Cleveland on the other hand altered their roster when Memphis wanted out of paying a higher luxury tax with three new players. Those betting on basketball disagreed with oddsmakers opening total of 198 and moved it to 200 for this Central Division clash. Milwaukee’s Monta Ellis has played well against the Cavs, averaging 30.8 PPG in the last four meetings. Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving will look to stay hot after his 40-point effort. Milwaukee is 18-8 OVER when the total is 200 to 209.5 and 12-1 OVER after covering the spread four out of five times. S-W Take – Play Under
CBB – (827) ST. PETER’S at (828) IONA 7:00 ET
With these teams headed in opposite directions, conventional wisdom would dictate to follow the better team. St. Peter’s in 1-8 in MAAC action, while Iona is 6-2 in conference play and had won six in a row before shooting 33.9 percent in a loss at Rider last Sunday. However, the betting public has moved the Gaels from 17.5-point home favorites to -16. Maybe the thought is St. Peter’s will have the confidence to play like they did in early December when they defeated Iona 64-62 as 8.5-point home underdogs. Nevertheless, the situation does not setup well for the Peacocks, who are 3-16 ATS off a conference setback. S-W Take – Lean with St. Peter’s
NHL – (5) WASHINGTON at (6) NEW JERSEY 7:05 ET CSMA, MSG
New Jersey is seeking their first 3-0 start of the season in a decade, while Washington is 0-3 and is off to their worst start since dropping their first six games 19 years ago. With the current state of both clubs, hockey bettors jumped all over the Devils at -135 on the money line and jacked them up to -160. The Capitals have been deplorable in the defensive end in surrendering 14 goals, while New Jersey has seen the opponent light the lamp just once in 2013. Washington is 3-14 off consecutive home losses by two or more goals. S-W Take – New Jersey wins
