NBA – (503) ORLANDO at (504) DETOIT 7:35 ET FSFL, FSD
The Orlando Magic has sort of been like Lance Armstrong lately- defenseless. This has been true in losing 11 of their last 13, especially against teams similar to them. The Magic (14-26 SU) has lost seven straight to opponents with losing records, allowing 113.0 per game in their last five such contests. The Pistons fit Orlando’s trials and tribulations with a 15-25 record, yet surprisingly; basketball bettors have lowered the total significantly from 197.5 to 195. Hard to agree with bettors as Orlando is 17-5 OVER after one or more consecutive Over’s and Detroit is 17-6 OVER at home after playing a game as a home underdog. S-W Take – Play Over

NBA – (507) OKLAHOMA CITY at (508) L.A. CLIPPERS 10:35 ET NBA-TV
The Thunder and Clippers own the best records in the NBA and they collide head on with each coming off a defeat. Oklahoma City losing at Denver 121-118 was not a stunner, since the Nuggets were playing with home revenge after losing to OKC four days prior. The L.A. Clippers loss yesterday was more conspicuous as Chris Paul labored in shooting 1-for-7 and had a season-low four points. Coach Vinny Del Negro would only say Paul situation would be evaluated before tonight’s contest and those betting on basketball felt the situation dictated change and moved LA/2 from -2 to a one point home underdog. S-W Take – Lean with Clippers
CBB – (525) ILLINOIS at (526) NEBRASKA 8:30 ET BTN
Illinois basketball has been rather loud lately. The Illini have lost four of six, including their last three in row and have shot under 39 percent in those defeats, with basketballs clanging off the iron. Despite Illinois ineptitude in making shots and the knowledge they have covered one spread since Dec. 9, college basketball bettors are thinking the GPS-challenge Illini will stretch the nylon with made shots and shifted them from -3 to -5.5 road favorites at Nebraska. The Cornhuskers move to the Big Ten has been dubious in men’s hoops and though Nebraska looks inviting as an increasing home dog, they are shooting a lower percentage in conference action than Illinois (36.6 vs. 38.7 percent). We will find out how much fight the Illini has, owning a 0-7 ATS mark off a home setback. S-W Take – Nebraska covers

CBB – (527) BOSTON COLLEGE at (528) MARYLAND 9:00 ET ESPNU
Boston College will not be accused of being Indiana on offense, but enough hoops bettors like their chances of hanging close enough with Maryland in College Park. Why, because the Terps offense has become offensive. Maryland is 1-3 (0-4 ATS) in their last four outings, tallying 53 points per contest. The marksmanship has been horrendous in failing to shoot over 40 percent once and this has given cause to the Terrapins to go backwards from -10 to -8.5. Will Maryland continue to convert shots at such an alarmingly low rate, probably not, yet it is impossible to ignore the Eagles are 17-7 ATS in away games. S-W Take – Lean with Boston College
NHL – (59) DALLAS at (60) DETROIT 7:35 ET FSSW, FSD
The money line on this Western Conference clash has tumbled, with Dallas down to +125 after opening 20 cents higher. Two factors likely play a part in the line declining. First, was the announcement that regular starting goalie Kari Lehtonen will be between the pipes for the Stars and the fact Dallas has terrific incentive, having lost all four times to Detroit last season. Nevertheless, this is the Red Wings home opener at the “Joe” and off their victory at Columbus, Detroit is 21-3 at home off a win. S-W Take – Detroit wins
