The NBA Finals commence and basketball bettors are satisfied with the numbers and the action is fairly evenly divided. Not so much in baseball and we have it all covered. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.
MLB – (903) PHILADELPHIA at (904) WASHINGTON 4:05 E CSN-P, MASN
Toss out the Yu Darvish contest and the Washington offense has been putting up numbers like the national debt. In the Nationals last five other conflicts, they are averaging 7.8 runs a game and will take on Kyle Kendrick (1-5, 4.21) of the Phillies, who is 1-10 with a 4.84 ERA in his last 18 starts dating to August. Add in the facts Philadelphia has lost five in a row and 10 of 12 in Washington and it is easy to digest why the Nats have zoomed from -180 to -205 on the money line.SWM Take – Washington wins
MLB – (907) ARIZONA at (908) COLORADO 8:40 E FSAZ, ROOT-RM
The Colorado players and fans all probably figured everything would by fine for the Rockies once they returned home, especially playing Arizona. Instead, the nightmare continues as Colorado who has lost 10 of 12. Baseball betters are taking a wary position on the Rocks and lowered them from -145 to -128. While it is almost incomprehensible to believe the Diamondbacks could sweep Colorado on the road, they are 11-1 after a win by eight runs or more since 2012. SWM Take – Lean Arizona
MLB – (913) L.A.A. ANGELS at (914) HOUSTON 7:10 E FSW, CSN-H
After a strong start to the season, Tyler Skaggs (4-3, 4.14) has lost his past two outings, not being able to control his tosses as effectively. This has caused a little uneasiness in the wagering community and the Angels have been jettisoned from -140 to around -125. Skaggs however has not had troubles with Houston, registering a 0.60 ERA in two matchups this season, striking out 11 and walking two over 15 innings. The Halos are 11-2 in road games after scoring four runs or less in three straight contests, but hold on, they are 3-11 after winning by four or more runs. SWM Take – Lean Los Angeles
MLB – (921) MILWAUKEE at (922) MINNESOTA 8:10 E FSWI, FSNO
Milwaukee is in danger of losing the Border War to Minnesota and needs a win to gain a split. No matter who emerges with the victory, those betting baseball are calling for more runs, lifting the total from 8.5 to 9. Roughly half the total could come from Twins starter Kevin Correia (2-6, 5.87), whose been rocked all season and especially at Target Field with a 7.09 ERA. For whatever reason, Minnesota has been able to tag Brewers pitchers and are averaging 5.3 runs a game in winning seven of eight. The Twinkies are 12-4 OVER after a win by two runs or less this season. SWM Take – Play Over
