In afternoon baseball, Washington’s Jordan Zimmerman was under the weather and pulled as a starter, dropping the Nationals as favorites in the Big Apple. The Twins and White Sox total has dipped from 8 to 7.5 as they conclude their series. Like we say every day, understanding line moves can build your bankroll.

NBA – (701) SAN ANTONIO at (702) OKLAHOMA CITY  8:00 E  TNT

San Antonio SpursThe Spurs remarkable winning streak has reached 20 games and tonight enough different bettors are thinking it comes to an end in Oklahoma City. The Thunder opened as two-point favorites and has been raised to -4, despite only 55 percent of wagers placed on them. Though San Antonio has been routing teams of late which has allowed coach Gregg Popovich to rest players, you have to wonder if he might rest one of his stars for what seemingly is a big game, like he has in the past. Oklahoma City has not played since Sunday, but has failed to cover both times when playing with three or more days rest (1-1 SU). The Spurs off their gouging of Golden State last night is 13-4 and 11-6 ATS with no rest. SWM TakeLean San Antonio

CBB – (707) YALE at (708) MURRAY STATE  7:00 E  CBSSN

Murray State will play their fourth consecutive home game, trying to wrap up the CIT championship against Yale. The Racers were released as 5.5-point favorites and zoomed all the way to -8.5, before being recoiled to -7.5. Murray State has a fine basketball tradition coming out of the Ohio Valley Conference and is 12-2 ATS at home and 14-3 ATS in the role of favorite. Yale has had the tougher road to reach this juncture and is playing its fourth straight away contest, but is 11-3 ATS taking on teams who convert of 45% or more of their shots and is 9-5 ATS on the road this season. SWM TakeMurray State covers

NHL – (7) BOSTON at (8) TORONTO 7:35 E  NESN, TSN

It is desperation time for Toronto. The Maple Leafs ended their eight-game losing streak with a win over Calgary on Tuesday and is one point behind Columbus for the last spot in the East playoffs. (Though they have played two more games than the Blue Jackets) Toronto takes on Boston who has the most points in the NHL and was a -160 money line road favorite before falling to -145. The Leafs might not see the Bruins best in goal, but Chad Johnson has not been an easy mark since he is 11-0-1 with a 1.83 goals-against average in 12 starts since his last regulation loss Dec. 19 to Buffalo. Though the B’s lost last night, they are 13-2 when playing without rest this season. SWM Take – Boston wins

MLB – (969) N.Y. YANKEES at (970) HOUSTON 8:10 E  YES, CSN-H

While the Angels being swept at home was a shocker, if the Yankees were to start 0-3 with a trio of losses at Houston, who won just 51 times in 3013, well, that would qualify as a stunning development. The New York bats have been quiet in registering just three runs but baseball bettors are thinking that could change facing Houston’s Brett Oberholtzer and altered the total from 8 to 8.5. The Yankees will counter with Ivan Nova, who will try and start 2014 with an impressive performance.  New York is 40-21 UNDER after two or more defeats the past two years. SWM Take – Lean Under
