Sports Betting Line Moves and Free Picks for President’s Day

Happy President’s Day to you. Trivia Question- What two former president’s have to do with this day and what are their actual birth dates? Today is kind unusual for line moves, with injuries being a big part of a couple totals moves in college basketball. In the NHL, we have seen a couple massive money line moves which we explain below. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

CBB – (703) OAKLAND U. at (704) WRIGHT STATE  5:00 ET  ESPNU

Big battle for sole possession of second place in the Horizon League. Hoops bettors are counting on Oakland’s high-powered offense which is averaging 87.1 points a game and lifted them from a Pick to -2.5. However, Wright State is extremely dangerous and can slow tempo as they just proved in upsetting first place Valparaiso 61-59 in there building +13.5 point underdogs. Very difficult pick here with Oakland 11-1 ATS in the road and Wright State 12-1 SU at home. Total at 152 offers no insight.

Betting Trend – 78% backing Oakland U.

Doug’s VPID Take – Slight lean Wright State

CBB – (705) UW-MILWAUKEE at (706) UW-GREEN BAY  8:00 ET  W-ESPN

Battle in the Badger State which is always contentious. Turns out the betting action is on the total, lowered from 170 to 168.5 for these two stellar offensive-minded teams which are averaging 79 or more points a contest. Milwaukee won 15 days ago 95-94 at home with total of 164, which had to play into larger opening total. While we acknowledge the Phoenix is 8-2 OVER after a combined score of 165 points or more this season, this is both teams third contest in five days and the legs should affect the shooting and when the total is between 160 and 169.5 points and February home teams are called for 21 or more fouls a game, they are 29-6 UNDER.

Betting Trend – 89% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (715) WOFFORD at (716) UNC-GREENSBORO  7:00 ET

Wofford needs a victory to move into second place tie in the Southern Conference and oddsmakers initially thought that was possible and made them a one-point road favorite. That changed this morning when the Terriers were flipped to +1 point underdogs. There are two great concerns about Wofford. It begins with 4-11 and 4-9 ATS road record and is followed up with defense which allows 50% of made shot attempts on the road. UNC-Greensboro is no prize having lost three in a row SU and ATS, making for another conundrum.

Betting Trend – 84% backing Wofford

Doug’s VPID Take – Slight lean UNC-Greensboro

NHL Betting News: Nothing to really write about in the hockey other than goalie switches have affected three games. Chicago is going with backup Scott Darling and plunged from -300 to -235. Florida went from -135 to +105 with second stringer Al Montoya now between the pipes for the Panthers and lastly, Montreal is going to current best netminder Michael Condon at Arizona after he was presumed to sit and they went from +105 to -115 in the desert.

Public Consensus Record – 51% to 79% – 10-13

Public Consensus Record – 80% or Higher – 4-6-1
