For starters, have a great Memorial Day! Next we have line moves in baseball, plus the big games in the NBA West Finals and Stanley Cup Finals. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (79-60 of late) to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA – (727) OKLAHOMA CITY at (728) GOLDEN STATE  9:00 ET  TNT

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.com	With Oklahoma City blowing another fourth quarter lead this season on Saturday, we now have a seventh game in the West Finals. Hoops bettors are counting on a typical Game 7 being more defensive and conservative, even for these two clubs and lowered the total from 219 to 218. This currently is the lowest total of the series and I’m inclined to back this line movement with OKC 14-6 UNDER versus teams with win percentage of 70% or higher and Golden State 11-3 UNDER after allowing 100 points or more in four straight games this season.

Betting Trend – 77% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

NHL – (51) SAN JOSE at (52) PITTSBURGH  8:05 ET  NBC

The opening the Stanley Cup Finals has the visitor gaining traction in wagering circles, lowered from +135 to +120. This makes sense when you consider San Jose was the best road team in the NHL this season at 33-17 SU and in the past 24 Finals confrontations, the visitor has taken 11 of them. The Sharks figure to take one of the two in the Steel City and it might be the opener.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Pittsburgh

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean San Jose

MLB – (955) L.A. DODGERS at (956) CHIC. CUBS  5:05 ET  SNLA, WGN

Though the Cubs have won five straight and are baseball’s best team, the Dodgers have taken six of seven and influential baseball bettors are on the underdog, having lowered typically overvalued Chicago from -150 to -129. While the Cubs Jason Hammel (6-1, 2.17 ERA) has been terrific all season, L.A.’s Alex Wood (1-3, 4.03) has a 1.96 ERA and 27 strikeouts in his last three starts, and Hammel has career ERA of 5 in dozen starts against the Dodgers. Though Los Angeles could win, there is now a great deal of value with Chicago and Wood is 3-12 if his team is off two or more consecutive wins since last season. (Team’s Record)

Betting Trend – 94% backing Chicago

Doug’s VPID Take – Cubs Win

MLB – (973) DETROIT at (974) L.A.A. ANGELS  9:05 ET  FSD, FSW

Justin Verlander (4-4, 4.02) has been flashing his former Cy Young winning ability with a 1.54 ERA in past three starts. However, those digging deeper have found Kate Upton’s finance and teammates have not enjoyed many recent trips to Anaheim. Detroit has lost 17 of 21 in Orange County and Verlander is 2-3 with a 6.19 ERA in six career starts at the Halos. Backed with this intel, the Tigers have tumbled from -140 to -115. Though the Angels are crummy 10-16 at the Big A this season, one has to at least consider the club in red with Verlander and Detroit 4-13 when the money line is +125 to -125 the last two seasons.

Betting Trend – 71% backing Detroit

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Angels

Public Consensus Record – 51% to 79% – 94-102-1

Public Consensus Record – 80% or Higher – 78-63-1

Line Movement Direction Record – 175-158-2
