Good day to check out all the latest line moves in the NBA, NHL and college hoops. Take a minute to reviews all the betting trends and our free picks for today’s contests, which are 55-44, recently. Be back here on Friday, got it.

NBA – (705) UTAH at (706) HOUSTON  8:05 ET ROOT-RM+, ROOT-SW

Evidently a change in venue is going to alter how these teams played just three days ago. Houston won at Utah 93-91 on Monday with a closing total of 198. Oddsmakers made an adjustment to 196.5, but bettors took it right backing to 198. Not sure how big a help the Jazz will be with Derrick Favors out and scoring 94.1 PPG in their last six contests. They must be surmising the Rockets will zoom back to previous form, as the past four Houston total scores were 225.5. The Rockets are 60-42 OVER after not beating the spread.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over

NBA – (707) L.A. LAKERS at (708) SACRAMENTO  10:35 ET  TNT

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comLet’s be honest, the only reason to tune this TNT game is you appreciate DeMarcus Cousins is turning into one the best big men in the NBA or you have action on this contest. Somebody has cash flowing on the total, as the total has drifted from 214 to 212.5. Despite the Lakers 27th in points allowed (105.8 PPG) and Sacramento 30th (107.9), hoops players are counting on Los Angeles sending off their usual misguided launches, being the worst-shooting team in the NBA at 41 percent. I will agree this is the right course of action.

Betting Trend – 87% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (711) FLORIDA ATLANTIC at (712) MARSHALL  7:00 ET

This is case study of taking the lesser of two evils in C-USA action. Florida Atlantic is 2-12 (3-8-1 ATS) and their most recent win was on Dec. 10, seven games ago against Ave Maria. (Yea, that Ave Maria university, started by former Domino’s Pizza magnate Tom Monaghan near Naples) Marshall is not a whole lot better at 5-9 (6-6 ATS), but can at least score (78.5 PPG), something the Owls cannot (61.5 PPG). With the Thundering Herd likely to pay at their preferred pace, they have been bumped from -9.5 to -12. This is risky proposition since Marshall opponents are converting 47.7 of shot attempts, making this dicey pick.

Betting Trend – 86% backing Marshall

Doug’s VPID Take – Slight lean Marshall

CBB – (733) UW-GREEN BAY at (734) CLEVELAND STATE  7:30 ET  SC-W

This is not your uncle’s UW-Green Bay teams, when Dick Bennett was the head coach. The Phoenix get up and down the floor and average 83.8 PPG. Cleveland State used to be capable of playing this way, but with only one returning starter, the offense is suffering and only scoring 62.6 PPG. The total has risen like the El Nino waters in SoCal and Arizona from 146.5 to 149, but we forecast the Vikings will slow the game down leading to lower score.

Betting Trend – 95% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

NHL – (7) WINNIPEG at (8) DALLAS 8:35 ET  TSN3, FSSW

Dallas has lost three games in a row and allowed awful 15 goals in the process, which is why they were moved from -200 to -175. Personally, I think this makes the Stars a better value since they are 16-4 SU at American Airlines Arena and are 9-0 this season coming off a game in which they allowed two or more goals in third period.

Betting Trend – 95% backing Dallas

Doug’s VPID Take – Dallas wins
