Time to jumps ahead to Thursday as we break down the biggest line moves in the NBA, NHL and college basketball. Take a minute to reviews all the betting trends and our free picks, which are 67-53 recently. (Slight leans no longer graded) See you back here tomorrow for weekend edition which will include all the NFL action.

NBA – (707) CLEVELAND at (708) SAN ANTONIO 8:05 ET  TNT

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comNot many NBA regular season games are – must see – but this is one of them. What basketball bettors are counting on is points and more of them, moving the total from 195.5 to 197. Though both are very good defensive teams, the offenses have really been in sync with Cleveland scoring 114.6 PPG in their last five and San Antonio at 112.2 PPG. Maybe the defenses will prevail, but the Spurs are 15-4 OVER at home versus teams who average 53 or more rebounds a game the last two years.

Betting Trend – 79% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over

CBB – (715) IOWA at (716) MICHIGAN STATE  7:00 ET  ESPN

When you think of Michigan State and Tom Izzo, it is a foregone conclusion that when they are in a revenge spot and playing at home, chances are they are going to give a superior effort. That is what sports bettors are counting on and they have taken Sparty up to points to -8.5 over visiting Iowa. Though the Hawkeyes have been terrific in winning nine of 10 (5-3-1 ATS), Michigan State has Denzel Valentine back, after he missed the last conflict. Not much value left if you prefer the Spartans, yet they are still 35-11 ATS as a home favorite of 6.5 to 9 points.

Betting Trend – 68% backing Michigan State

CBB – (737) UL-LAFAYETTE at (738) GEORGIA SOUTHERN  7:30 ET  (side and total) W-ESPN

Two struggling Sun Belt clubs are receiving an unusual amount of attention for such a pedestrian contest. Louisiana-Lafayette is 5-8 (2-7 ATS) and is 1-3 in conference action and has gone from -6 to -8 road favorite. Georgia Southern has the same Sun Belt record and is 5-9 (2-6 ATS). The schedule-makers did the Ragin’ Cajuns no favors with four consecutive road games, where they are 0-8 and 1-7 ATS. Very difficult to support an away favorite with those numbers. The total has come down two digits to 160, as ULL shoots under 40 percent in traveling uniforms. However, the Eagles knock down 88.3 PPG at home and loving to push the tempo, thus we’ll call for them to move to 8-1 OVER after tonight.

Betting Trend – 94% backing UL- Lafayette and 80% on Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Georgia Southern covers and Over

NHL – (57) CAROLINA at (58) ST. LOUIS  8:05 ET  FSS, FSMW

Mildly puzzled why St. Louis has skid from -170 to -145 on the money line against Carolina at home. Granted, Carolina has won three straight, yet they are still only 19-25 SU on the season. And I could  understad some having reservations about the Blues, who recently dropped five in a row before emerging with a pair of wins. The Hurricanes have lost nine of 12 at Scottrade Center and with the total at five, they are 14-41 in road games when the total is 5 or less the last three seasons. Based on betting trends, a few big wagers must have placed on Carolina.

Betting Trend – 94% backing St. Louis

Doug’s VPID Take – St. Louis wins
