Sports Betting Line Moves and Free Picks for Feb.9th

Relatively quiet in the NBA with not as many choices, thus, we grabbed the biggest line moves in the NHL, along with a couple of ESPN telecasts in which the numbers have moved significantly. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks to see what we are thinking. See you back here Wednesday.

NBA – (705) BOSTON at (706) MILWAUKEE  8:05 ET  CSN-NW, FSWI

The combination of a smoldering Boston offense against a below average Milwaukee defense has sent total scurrying from 207 to 208.5. The Celtics offense ranks fourth anyways in scoring at 105 points per game and they have been Golden State-like in averaging 111.9 PPG in their last 15 contests. Last season’s excellent Bucks defense has been replaced by outfit roasted for 102.9 PPG. Not sure about the Milwaukee offense and found the C’s are 12-3 UNDER in a road games when the total is between 205 and 209.5 points the last two seasons.

Betting Trend – 51% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (717) MICHIGAN STATE at (718) PURDUE  7:00 ET  ESPN

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comSince the advent of Big Ten action, Purdue has not performed well against the upper crust of teams in the conference, accounting for 7-4 record. The Boilermakers are much better at home with 13-1 (7-3 ATS) record and they have been flipped from a single point underdog to handing out a digit at Mackey Arena against Michigan State. After mysterious three-game losing streak (0-3 ATS), the Spartans are 4-0 SU and ATS since. Michigan State has a healthier Denzel Valentine and other players have stepped up for coach Tom Izzo. Two of the best rebounding teams in the country, but Sparty is 21-7 ATS on the road and I will lean their way.

Betting Trend – 87% backing Michigan State

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Michigan State

CBB – (749) GEORGIA at (750) KENTUCKY  9:00 ET  ESPN

Despite Georgia posting a 7-2-1 ATS mark in past 10 SEC games, the Bulldogs have been elevated from +11.5 to +13. The concern with backing Georgia at Kentucky is what Dawgs offense shows up, the one that make 50 percent or the one which just shot 35.1 percent at home versus Auburn? This is not the Wildcats powerhouse of the last several seasons, but they still have talent and are 13-0 (7-6 ATS) at Rupp Arena, winning by 17.5 PPG. Nevertheless, Georgia is 14-5 ATS versus defensive teams holding opponents under 42% shooting after 15 or more games into the season.

Betting Trend – 53% backing Georgia

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Georgia

NHL– (61) TAMPA BAY at (62) MONTREAL  7:35 ET  SUN, RDS

My how quickly things change in sports betting! After winning 10 of 11, Tampa Bay once against played badly in Ottawa and was throttled 5-1 by the Senators, losing for 20th time in 30 games there. Next stop is Montreal and the Lightning have been struck down from -140 money line road favorites  to -120. Losing last night surely had an impact and so has the Canadiens winning their last two home games. Still, prefer the visiting favorites who are 7-3 recently at the Bell Centre and 12-3 off a defeat by three or more goals.

Betting Trend – 90% backing Tampa Bay

Doug’s VPID Take – Tampa Bay wins

Public Consensus Record – 51% to 79% – 6-6

Public Consensus Record – 80% or Higher – 3-2
