NBA – (503) DETROIT at (504) BROOKLYN  7:35 ET  FSD, YES

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comThough Detroit is averaging 105.9 points a contest in their last seven outings, the total has dipped two points to 202 at Brooklyn. The Nets are doing their part to make this happen, drawing ever closer to Philadelphia for the league’s worst offense, in averaging 93.3 PPG in their past six outings. While my numbers land on either 203 or 202, Brooklyn lost by two at New Orleans Saturday and is 18-4 UNDER  after a loss by six points or less, while the Pistons are 18-6 UNDER after a combined score of 215 points or more in straight games.

Betting Trend – 84% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

NBA – (505) DALLAS at (506) ATLANTA  8:05 ET  FSSW, FSSE

The Mavericks and Hawks are middle of the road offensive teams in the NBA, just not lately, which has impacted basketball bettors thinking. Dallas has been in defensive mode of late, scoring and allowing 92 or fewer points in three of the last four encounters. Atlanta has lost three in a row and it’s offense has duller than an episode of NBC’s -The Player. This has shrunk the total from 200 to 198 and the Hawks are 23-9 UNDER at home off consecutive road losses by 10 points or more.

Betting Trend – 50-50 Take

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Under

You do not often see many North Carolina totals fall, let alone by three points like this did at Louisville to 148. How terrible the Cardinals looked on offense in shooting 32.7 percent in 63-47 home setback to Virginia Saturday made a difference in the thinking. Chalk that up to just an off day and look for Rick Pitino’s squad to have more normal shooting game against foe like the Tar Heels who goes up and down the court. Roy William’s team is 14-7 OVER this season and though you cannot ignore the Cardinals are 15-6 UNDER as a home favorite, you have to consider the opposition and I see this in the 150’s.

Betting Trend – 55% Backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over

CBB – (529) IONA at (530) ST. PETER’S   7:00 ET  (side and total)

It has not been a banner year for Iona at 11-9 (6-12 ATS), yet they have moved into second place tie in MAAC with 8-3 record and are scoring their customary 80+ points a game. With St. Peter’s having dumped three straight in league play to fall to 6-4, bettors did not hesitate to lift the Gaels from -2.5 to -4.5 road favorites. Initially, this looks like the right move, however, Iona is 2-8 and 3-7 ATS on the road this season and 8-18 ATS after playing three consecutive contests as a favorite. With the Peacocks offense averaging merely 53.3 PPG in these recent losses, the total sinking from 143.5 to 141.5 makes sense, especially supported by five straight UNDER’s in a row by this competitors and eight of 10 at St. Peter’s.

Betting Trend – 91% backing Under and 69% on Iona

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under and Lean St. Peter’s
