Sports Betting Line Moves and Free Picks for Feb.18th

Sort of an unusual day for line moves with several matchups one would not think would attract as much attention in the NBA and college hoops, yet they have. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA – (605) UTAH at (606) WASHINGTON  7:05 ET  RTRM+, CSMA

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comThis is a makeup game from snow storm that went through D.C. last month. Even though both teams are thoroughly rested, they won’t be by Sunday, with Utah having to fly cross country to Portland, playing three times in four days and Washington having to play three games in three days. Players are creatures of habit and when that is disrupted, even though they have been off a week, they don’t like it. We concur with total down two points to 197 and see two disinterested teams going thru the motion until fourth quarter when somebody has to win, leading to lower score.

Betting Trend – 55% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (517) COLLEGE of CHARLESTON at (518) DELAWARE  7:00 ET

This can only best be described as oddsmakers error, with total leaping from 125.5 to 131. Two specific factors play into this adjustment. It starts with the Delaware defense, which has not been that strong to begin with, permitting 76.9 points a game and in the their last six contests, torched for 83.5 PPG. The Blue Hens perimeter defense has been leaky all year in allowing 10 made three’s a game, which is something Charleston will look to exploit. No real value left for betting, but still worth a look.

Betting Trend – 81% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

We are familiar with the three best teams in the West Coast Conference and about the only thing that changes is the order. Knowing who is in fourth place could win a few bar bets and presently that is Pepperdine at 9-6 (8-7 ATS). The Waves are hosting San Francisco and opened as 11-point favorites, but have been driven down to -9. The 49ers are a hard to figure foe and they are 4-1 SU and ATS versus Pepperdine in their most recent meetings and are 17-6 ATS on the road after three consecutive WCC affairs.

Betting Trend – 95% backing San Francisco

Doug’s VPID Take – San Francisco covers

It is not very often a Big Sky contest shows up with a larger line move, particularly if Weber State or Montana are not involved. Nonetheless, Eastern Washington has been a pretty solid program in the Big Sky the last several seasons, being an excellent offense squad with just a passing interest in playing defense. Coming off NCAA tourney bid, the offense is still formidable at 83.2 PPG, while conceding 76.9. With Sacramento State 3-9 (5-6-1 ATS) in conference play, the Eagles have flown from -1- to -3.5 point road favorites. Though the Hornets are down this year, they have covered five straight over EWU (4-1 SU) and catching a half point on key number matters.

Betting Trend – 96% backing Eastern Washington

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Sacramento State

Public Consensus Record – 51% to 79% – 16-15

Public Consensus Record – 80% or Higher – 7-8-1
