One of the storylines to this nationally televised tilt is the supposed interest by Boston to acquire Jimmy Butler in a trade. Along with this, there has also been interest in the total, which shot up from 212 to 214 this morning, before settling at 213.5. This total could be in flux all day in understanding what we have noticed thus far. No matter where it lands, we will follow the Celtics tendencies, which show us they are 8-1 OVER after scoring 110 points or more in three straight games this season.

Betting Trend – 78% backing Over

CBB – (711) DREXEL at (712) DELAWARE 7:00 ET

For some reason there is interest in the bottom feeders of the CAA Conference. Last place Drexel has gone from +1 to a -1.5 point favorite at Delaware, who is one game ahead of the Dragons in the standings. The Blue Hens have recently escaped the CAA basement in winning three of five (4-1 ATS) and they have been solid at home with a 8-4 and 6-2 ATS record. The level of interest on this contest among those betting college basketball has to be low, thus, a significant wager or two must have impacted line. Though Drexel is the better offensive squad, with the total at 143, the Dragons are 0-6 ATS on the road when the total is 140 to 149.5 this season.

Betting Trend – 71% backing Drexel

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Delaware

UNC-Wilmington is atop the CAA standings and is Top 10 in the country in scoring at 85.8 PPG. In spite of this, the total has collapsed like the Atlanta Falcons defense in the Super Bowl from 156 to 152. The culprit for this is Northeastern, who prefers a slower pace and averages a dozen fewer shots a game than the Seahawks. Both teams rely heavily on making the three-ball which could elevate the total and the visitor is 11-3 OVER in road games after scoring 75 points or more in two straight contests.

Betting Trend – 67% backing Over

CBB – (715) UAB at (716) MARSHALL 7:00 ET  CBSSN

Marshall can score points on anybody, that is why they are seventh in the nation in scoring at 86.7 PPG. However, the Thundering Herd only has a 14-11 SU record because they are not nearly as proficient on defense, permitting  84.7 PPG. With these figures, those betting basketball have taken Marshall from -4 to -2.5 versus UAB. The Blazers have enjoyed a great deal of success over the years in Huntington, West Virginia, with 9-2 and 7-4 ATS records. UAB’s success came with far better teams than this one and the Blazers are miserable 1-8 ATS on the road this season. Consider that intel along with the Herd 8-2 ATS after two games where they made 10 or more 3-point shots this season and you know what I like.

Betting Trend – 56% backing Marshall

Doug’s VPID Take – Marshall covers

Public Consensus Record (2017) – 80% or Higher – 17-24-1 ATS
