Noticeable Line Moves and Free Picks for April 6

Had a couple line moves in baseball this afternoon, but by the time we would have this ready, they would have already started, thus we will go with evening mixture. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (56-30 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA – (701) BROOKLYN at (702) ORLANDO  7:05 ET  YES, FSFL The gambling degenerates came out for this one! A look at the NBA standings explains this falls short of a marquee matchup, yet more than enough influential money has helped alter this total from 227 to 224. Orlando is playing defense like they want the season to end in conceding 121 PPG in their last five contests. Nonetheless, I am inclined to agree with dipping total, with Brooklyn having just scored 140 points and making ridiculous 64 percent from the field.

Betting Trend – 87% backing Under

NBA – (709) MILWAUKEE at (710) INDIANA  7:05 ET  FSWI, FSIN

Milwaukee has dropped last two games and is trying to hang on to playoff position, while Indiana probably has to win out to make the postseason. This should make for competitive confrontation and somebody also sees more points than the oddsmakers. The starting total of 200 has been pushed to 204.5 and I concur, as both teams normal scoring game resides in 208 to 210 range and four of the past five in the Hoosier State have resulted in OVER’s.

Betting Trend – 91% backing Over

MLB – (909) ATLANTA at (910) N.Y. METS 7:10 ET  FSSE, SNY

For a year and half, Atlanta was about as bad as if gets in the big leagues. The Braves turned it around and were above .500 in the second half of the season in 2016 and yesterday evened the series with the New York Mets. Atlanta opened as a good-sized road underdog of +165, having to face Matt Harvey, yet are being given a chance for the upset, lowered to +140. Harvey suffered from thoracic outlet syndrome last season and while he did not pitch well in spring training, the velocity was back. Jamie Garcia was traded the Braves in the off-season and makes his debut and is 2-3 with a 2.66 ERA in seven career starts against the Mets. New York was only .500 against lefties last year (19-19), but if this game is close late, prefer the Metropolitans bullpen.

Betting Trend – 97% backing New York

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean New York

NHL – (19) CHICAGO at (20) ANAHEIM  10:05 ET  NBCSN

This is a battle of first place teams in the Western Conference and they hope to meet in the West Finals in late May. The first order of business for Anaheim is officially winning the division, which they could do tonight, however, they could be without as many as four defensemen, including their top two in Cam Fowler and Hampus Lindholm. With this the Ducks have waddled from -140 to -125 favorites against Chicago, who enters this affair having lost two straight and four of six. With the Blackhawks having won six of eight in Anaheim (includes playoffs) and sporting a 22-7 record coming off two or more defeats, Chicago is my call.

Betting Trend – 92% backing Anaheim

Doug’s VPID Take – Chicago wins
