As we take another look into the happenings of the Metropolitan Division, the most notable aspect is nobody in this division is playing poorly other than Philadelphia at this juncture.
The Flyers are 3-10 in the most recent games and despite how badly they played during 10-game losing streak, on the non-wagering side they still picked up points in half those setbacks coming beyond regulation.
For those making NHL picks, it has been hard to find fault with any Metropolitan squad, as the rest of the teams in the division have posted winning record in the most recent outings if you make the parameters at least 10 games. (as of 12/8)
Almost everyone more than holding their own, the Metropolitan has the tightest division race with six teams within four points of each other. What this could mean is any club has a hot streak of say 5-0 or 0-5, they could rise or fall very quickly.
Two teams that have are attention at the moment are Washington and the New York Rangers. Both got off to slows starts, with the Capitals at 4-6 SU and the Blueshirts far worse at 1-7. Both have rebounded nicely with Washington on a 6-1 run and they have a +8 goal differential in those contests and the Rangers rolling at 12-3, with a +18 goal differential.
