March Madness Line Moves and Free Picks for St. Patrick’s Day

We had some very good games yesterday, but no real shocking results. Nonetheless, we have all the largest line moves and if Thursday is quiet, Friday usually delivers a few stunners. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (25-13-1 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

In this late night affair, we have a classic confrontation of styles, South Carolina can defend like crazy, but see its offense dry up like a puddle in the desert in the summer time. Marquette can score in bunches, yet at times they would trouble defending a parked car. The total would seem to favor the Gamecocks, which has plummeted from 146 to 142.5. The South Carolina defense has struggled in recent weeks versus teams that can shoot the ball, thus, I will back a higher scoring contest.

CBB – (831) WICHITA STATE vs. (832) DAYTON 7:10 ET  CBS Evidently, buckets might be harder to come by than what the oddsmakers thought, as the total has tumbled from 148 to 144. There is little doubt Wichita State can stifle any offense, however, as compared to many Dayton teams of the past, this Flyers squad does not have a wide variance in scoring home and away. Still, when breaking it all down, impossible to overlook the Shockers are 12-2 UNDER on neutral floors of late.

CBB – (843) RHODE ISLAND vs. (844) CREIGHTON 4:30 ET  TBS

Bettors are riding the hot hand and shoved Rhode Island from +2 to -2 point favorite over Creighton. The Bluejays lost their point guard and have shown uneven results since at 5-6 and 4-7 ATS. The Rams have been as tough as Dodge Ram truck, with eight straight wins (6-2 ATS) and now completely healthy. While we appreciate how good Creighton has been all season, absolutely love how Rhode Island is playing in all facets, particularly on defense.

Betting Trend – 72% backing Rhode Island

Doug’s VPID Take – Rhode Island covers

CBB – (845) KENT STATE vs. (846) UCLA 9:55 ET  truTV

Hmm, go figure a UCLA game would have a total that is going higher! The last game of the night has seen the number going from 159 to 162.5. While it seems the Bruins would just light up Kent State, the Golden Flashes finished the season 9-1 SU and held eight of those opponents under 70 points by controlling the speed of the game. Let’s just keep in mind Kent State is 6-0 UNDER in away games after a win by six points or less and UCLA is 14-5 UNDER when not at home having won two of their last three contests.
