Interesting Line Moves and Free Picks for April 13th

Wild night to open the Stanley Cup Playoffs! We have the latest line moves in hockey for tonight plus three MLB line moves under the lights. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (66-37 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here Friday.

MLB – (957) COLORADO at (958) SAN FRANCISCO  10:15 ET   RT-RM, CSBA San Francisco is among the many quality teams who have stumbled out of the gate and will look to get back on track with Colorado in town. Though Madison Bumgarner is among the best pitchers in baseball, the Giants have slid from -180 to -165. Though the Rockies are 3-1 on the road, they just lost at home to San Diego. Jon Gray starts for the Rocks who are 16-52 after two straight games where they had five or less hits.

Betting Trend – 93% backing San Francisco

MLB – (959) CHIC. WHITE SOX at (960) CLEVELAND  7:10 ET  WGN, STO

The first two games in this AL Central showdown has produced six totals runs, so naturally the total for the series finale has sunk from 8.5 to 8. With temperatures dipping into the low 40’s by game time, it will hardly be comfortable for batters, which could lead to few players touching home play. This plus Chicago is 14-3 UNDER after scoring two runs or less in two straight games and Cleveland is 33-13 UNDER at home after scoring three runs or less in four consecutive outings.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

MLB – (969) OAKLAND at (970) KANSAS CITY  8:15 ET  CSCA, FSKC

If Kansas City was anymore lifeless as a team, they would be on life support. I witnessed this first hand in spring training and it has continued into the regular season. Maybe tonight the Royals hitters will arise from their slumber (3.0 RPG) as the total has been lifted from 8.5 to 9. Clearly bettors are not sold on starters Jesse Hahn for Oakland or Jason Vargas and the K.C. bullpen, once a major strength, has an ERA of 7.86. Not sure we reach the total of 9 and Kansas City is 23-8 UNDER at home having lost three of their last four games.

Betting Trend – 62% backing Over

NHL – (11) TORONTO at (12) WASHINGTON  7:05 ET  USA

In most hockey bettors minds, this series will be a four-game sweep or the Gentlemen sweep (5 games). Washington was sent out as -200 home favorite and today are up to -260. I presumed it was because Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen might not be able to be between the pipes, but it was confirmed yesterday he will start. That is a lot extra juice on the Capitals, but who can argue about them being 22-5 at home when playing only their second game in five days?

Betting Trend – 70% backing Washington
