Our line moves continue on Wednesday and we have five to look over. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (146-100, 59.3% of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here Friday.
MLB – (957) CHIC. CUBS at (958) N.Y. METS 7:10 ET CSN-C, WPIX
With a brand new batting that featured slugger Anthony Rizzo leading off, the Cubs tied a season-high with 14 runs on Tuesday. Baseball bettors are thinking the Cubs reach their potential and moved them from -105 to -125. Chicago will start Mike Montgomery (0-3, 2.43 ERA) for an injured Kyle Hendricks, while New York counters with Matt Harvey (4-3, 5.02). This is not a price Harvey and the Mets are very comfortable at with a 3-12 record when the money line is +125 to -125 the last two seasons.
Betting Trend – 60% backing Chicago
Doug’s VPID Take – Chicago wins
MLB – (963) BALTIMORE at (964) CHIC. WHITE SOX 8:10 ET MASN2, CSN-C+ (side and total)
As mentioned here yesterday, Baltimore is slumping and under .500 for the first time in 2017, thanks to six-game losing streak. Those betting baseball thought streak would end last night for the Orioles and are equally as optimistic tonight, lifting the Birds from -115 to -130 with pitcher Dylan Bundy (6-5, 3.05). The White Sox will send Miguel Gonzalez (4-7, 4.89) to toe the rubber and while the Baltimore blows on the road at 10-22, look for Bundy to come through. Oddsmakers see the wind blowing out on the south side of the Windy City and made the total 10.5, however, the number has been reduced to 9.5, which I agree with.
Betting Trend – 80% backing Baltimore and 61% on Under

MLB – (965) TEXAS at (966) HOUSTON 8:10 ET FSSW, RTSW
After being swept at home by Houston, Texas will look to return the favor in H-Town tonight. The wagering public is not sure the Rangers will complete this and elevated the Astros from -145 to -160 or higher, in spite of Francis Martes (0-0, 9.82) making his first big league start. This is clearly not a ringing endorsement for Texas hurler Andrew Cashner (3-5, 3.17), who is 0-3 against the Stros, with two of the defeats coming this season. We know Houston has the better club, yet the Rangers have been streaky both ways and are 10-2 after three or more consecutive wins this season.
Betting Trend – 73% backing Houston
Doug’s VPID Take – Texas wins
MLB – (977) ARIZONA at (978) DETROIT 7:10 ET FSAZ, FSD
With Mike Fuller battling a shoulder issue, Detroit pitchers are being shuffled around and Jordan Zimmermann (5-4, 5.72) has been moved up a day. Despite a pretty sorry season by the right-hander, the money line favors the Tigers, up from -107 to -125. For Arizona, Taijuan Walker (4-3, 3.46) pitches for the first time since May 19th after being on the DL. With the Snakes offense averaging better than eight runs a game of late and Zimmermann hardly bullet-proof, prefer the Diamondbacks here.
Betting Trend – 77% backing Detroit
Doug’s VPID Take – Arizona wins
