What I’m letting you know today: Impressive win by Serena Williams, here fifth Wimbledon.

After being booed this week at home, Arizona’s Justin Upton did nothing to help his cause with the local fans. “To be honest with you, I don’t care anything what the fans think of me,” Upton said Friday. “My teammates, my coaches, they know I come here and I bust it every single day. I try to do everything I can to help this team. My teammates have my back and whatever the fans want to think, they can think.” Upton didn’t have an extra-base hit in 31 at-bats over his previous eight games before delivering a two-run triple in a five-run fifth inning last night. Rumors are circulating Upton can be had the right deal.

From Elias Sports – The Yankees-Red Sox game was tied at 5-5 after one inning. It’s the first MLB game in which each team scored five runs in the first since August 29, 2005 (Indians 6, Tigers 5) It’s the first time the Yankees have had such a game since May 11, 2005 (Yankees 5, Mariners 5).

It’s the first time the Red Sox have had such a game since April 13, 1984 (Tigers 8, Red Sox 5).

It’s the first time ever in the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry in which each team scored at least five runs in the first inning.

It is also the first MLB game in more than three years where both teams batted around in the first inning. That last happened on April 14, 2009, when the Red Sox scored three runs at Oakland, and then Daisuke Matsuzaka gave up five in the bottom of the inning.
