CBB – (603) TEMPLE at (604) CONNECTICUT  7:00 ET  CBSSN

The total in this AAC encounter is tumbling like, well, like UConn’s offense. The total is down three points to 140.5 and since losing leading scorer Jalen Adams, in the Huskies last five games they have averaged a measly 61 PPG. With UConn 11-4 UNDER in conference play and 7-1 UNDER in those games when at home, it sure seems this is UNDER or pass.

Betting Trend – 80% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (619) UCLA at (620) COLORADO  9:00 ET  ESPN2

All UCLA players need is a red cape and the crowd to shout “Ole”, because their matador defense lets opposing teams go past them rather easily in permitting 82.4 PPG on the road. This is what is pushing the total to climb from 149.5 to 152.5. Colorado, at least at home, should do their part, as they average 79.6 PPG in Boulder. The Buffs are solid defensive club and are 18-10 Under this season. Truthfully, I could make a case either way, but I’ll take the OVER, figuring the Bruins defense will be exposed and their offense will do enough to go OVER.

Betting Trend – 92% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

CBB – (631) VALPARAISO vs. (632) INDIANA STh. 7:05 ET  FSMW, ESPN+ (side and total)

The Missouri Valley tournament starts tonight with an 8 vs.9 conflict. The total has bottomed out from 131 to 126 and Indiana State has gone from -2 to -3.5. The Sycamores won and covered both games and the totals were split. Though Valparaiso really struggles to score, Indiana State’s defense has been torched several times in MVC play, as opposing teams have shot 50% or higher. I’ll take OVER on that one. On the side, I would really like to back Valpo, but they commit so many turnovers I cannot trust them and will choose Indiana State to barely cover.

Betting Trend – 91% backing Under and 87% in Indiana State

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over, Lean Indiana State

NHL  – (67) ST. LOUIS at (68) LOS ANGELES  10:35 ET  FSMW, FSW

Though St. Louis has to play two nights in a row, they just have to make the short trip from Anaheim to the Staples Center to play the Kings and were coming off three days without game. The Blues are on a stellar 14-4 move and have been bumped up 30 cents on the money line to -175. L.A’s play has been less than stellar with their recent 1-11 record and they are 1-15 after playing a game where four or fewer total goals were scored.

Betting Trend – 67% backing St. Louis

Doug’s VPID Take – St. Louis wins

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 51% to 79% – 30-25-1 ATS

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 80% or Higher –15-16-1ATS

Line Movement Direction Record (2019) – 46-40-2 ATS
