We have line moves for today and look at many of the weekend’s biggest games. Take a minute to review all the betting trends, our free picks and predictions (30-20-1 in 2019) to see what we are thinking about today. See you back here next week.

NBA – (513) MINNESOTA at (514) NEW ORLEANS  9:35 ET  ESPN

With Anthony Davis still a Pelican for the rest of the season, New Orleans marches on. What is also marching is the total, up from 231 to 233.5. I’m not seeing this happening, as both teams are generally trending UNDER and Minnesota is 19-9 UNDER in road games when the total is 220 or higher the last two seasons.

Betting Trend – 93% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (855) PENN at (856) BROWN  7:00 ET  ESPN+ (side and total)

Penn and Brown have gotten off to very disappointing starts in the Ivy League and the loser will be 1-4 despite both clubs sporting 13-7 records. Brown has been flipped from a one-point home underdog to a one-point favorite. The Bears have the better defensive team and both have wild swings in shooting. I’ll side with the Quakers who are 15-6 SU at Brown. The total also moved, up three points to 141. With Brown 14-4 UNDER this season, I’ll the other way.

Betting Trend – 76% backing Old Dominion

Doug’s VPID Take – Penn covers and Under

CBB – Saturday – (605) WISCONSIN at (606) MICHIGAN  12:00 ET  FOX

Wisconsin is on 6-0 SU and ATS since they beat Michigan five games ago. The Badgers are playing to who they are and controlling the tempo. The Wolverines are still the more talented team but they are just 6-8 ATS at home. Michigan wins but fails to cover.

Anticipated Line – Michigan by 5 to 7

Doug’s VPID Take – Wisconsin covers (at these numbers)

CBB – Saturday – (651) VILLANOVA at (652) MARQUETTE  2:30 ET  FOX

The Bucks are not the only hot basketball team in Milwaukee. Marquette is a legit Top 10 team and will look to hand Villanova its first Big East setback Saturday. The Wildcats after a struggle early are back to playing how Jay Wright wants them to. A fascinating guard battle with the Golden Eagles Markus Howard and Nova’s Phil Booth. Sure looks like a two-point either way and if Marquette is at -2 or less, we will back them.

Anticipated Line – Marquette by 1 to 3 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Marquette

CBB – Saturday – (713) DUKE at (714) VIRGINIA  6:00 ET  ESPN

The rematch is set and we hope it can be as good as the first meeting. This would not be an easy choice anyway and it’s made more difficult by not knowing the health of Virginia’s Ty Jerome. If he’s healthy, the Cavaliers are the pick, if not, Duke is the choice. Because of Jerome uncertainty, taking the Blue Devils.

Anticipated Line – One point either way

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Kentucky

NBA – Saturday – (531) OKLAHOMA CITY at (532) HOUSTON  8:35 ET  ABC

Houston’s back home after a 3-1 road trip. Oklahoma City is on fire at 9-1 and 8-2 ATS. In this case, taking the points seems to be the most prudent thing to do with the Thunder who has the better overall squad.

Anticipated Line – Houston by 2 to 4 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Oklahoma City

NBA – Sunday – (543) L.A. LAKERS at (544) PHILADELPHIA  3:35 ET  ABC

The Lakers will be more rested having not played since Thursday. Philadelphia has gotten better from trades, but roles are going to have to adjust again with Tobias Harris and the 76ers are not really a mentally strong team. I’ll grab the points with L.A.

Anticipated Line – Philadelphia by 5 to 7 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Los Angeles

 CBB – Sunday – (511) CINCINNATI at (512) HOUSTON  4:00 ET  ESPN

First place on the line in the AAC. Going to side with Houston because of speed and quickness and playing at home. Cincinnati will have two scoring droughts that will cost them.

Anticipated Line – Houston by 4 to 6 points

Doug’s VPID Take – Houston covers

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 51% to 79% – 14-9-1 ATS

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 80% or Higher – 8-5ATS

Line Movement Direction Record (2019) – 19-17-1 ATS
