All the line moves in the NBA today are trade or injury related, so nothing there. Instead, we will look at college hoops and the NHL. Take a minute to review all the betting trends, our free picks and predictions (27-19-1 in 2019) to see what we are thinking today. See you back here tomorrow.

CBB – (617) HOUSTON at (618) CENT. FLORIDA  7:00 ET  CBSSN

Houston has only lost once all season, but with another defeat and a Cincinnati victory, they would be tied with Central Florida for second place in the AAC. While this will draw a lot of attention, bettors are working over the total making it rise from 128.5 to 132. Both are excellent defensive teams, but those defenses also contribute to some easy baskets with blocked shots and steals. I concur with the total lifted as these rivals have played five straight OVER’s and are 9-2 OVER in Orlando.

Betting Trend – 93% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

CBB – (627) OLD DOMINION at (628) UAB  8:00 ET  ESPN+

Old Dominion is in the first place by virtue of playing one more game than UTSA and North Texas in C-USA action, however, all three squads have three losses. UAB will be out to drag the Monarchs to their level, adding a fourth setback, just like the Blazers have. The betting public is choosing ODU’s pedigree and pushed them from a Pick to -1.5 in Birmingham. The Monarchs are 2-9 ATS in C-USA action, yet are 7-0 ATS after making 50% or more of 3-point shots. And UAB is 8-18 ATS as an underdog, on two-game losing streak, but 10-2 SU at home this season. Just a small lean with the Blazers who are 4-1 SU and ATS at home over ODU.

Betting Trend – 76% backing Old Dominion

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean UAB

CBB – (643) WASHINGTON at (644) ARIZONA  9:00 ET   ESPN2

Arizona just had a third assistant coach in the last year get suspended by the NCAA, but of course head coach Sean Miller knows nothing about it. #right With recruiting affected and injuries, the Wildcats have not preformed at previous levels and are just 14-8 this season. Despite all this, the wagering action has been on Arizona, taken from a 1.5-point road underdog to a Pick over Pac-12 leader Washington. The Huskies are a perfect 9-0 SU and ATS in the conference and shoot the ball effectively and play excellent defense. The Wildcats have not shot over 41% in five games and they have allowed their last four foes on average to make over 50% of their shot attempts. Maybe Arizona steps up, but for my money, Washington is the more connected team.

Betting Trend – 68% backing Washington

Doug’s VPID Take – Washington covers

NHL – (51) VANCOUVER at (52) CHICAGO  8:35 ET  RSPN

Chicago might be in last place in the Central Division, but they deserve credit for fighting to escape with five straight wins. The Blackhawks offense would easily melt the snow and ice outside the United Center with 28 goals during this streak. Vancouver opened the second half with four road games and this is the last of them, posting a 1-2 record. As well as the Hawks have played, they have slipped from -150 to -130 money line home favorites. The fast remains they are not good team and are 2-9 on home ice after a win. Nevertheless, just not convinced the Canucks are that strong and Chicago extends streak to six.

Betting Trend – 62% backing Chicago

Doug’s VPID Take – Chicago wins

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 51% to 79% – 11-9-1 ATS

Public Consensus Record (2019) – 80% or Higher – 7-5ATS
