Free Picks and Predictions on Line Moves for February 12

Time to get back in the action for line moves and we have four contests in a variety of sports. Take a minute to review all the betting trends, our free picks and predictions (35-24-1 in 2019) to see what we are thinking about today. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA – (575) SAN ANTONIO at (576) MEMPHIS  8:05 ET  FSSW, FSSE

Talk about your contrasts! Memphis is the lowest scoring team in the NBA at 100.3 PPG. Part 1 of San Antonio’s “Rodeo Trip” is not going so well, especially on defense, as they have permitted 130 PPG in their first four games. Basketball bettors are thinking the Grizzlies offense can take advantage of the Spurs lack of guarding and moved the total from 208 to 210. Just over a month ago at the same locale, Memphis won 96-86 with the total at 206. However, I’m inclined to agree where the line moved to and San Antonio is 7-0 OVER in road games revenging a straight up loss as a favorite.

Betting Trend – 60% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over

CBB – (603) PURDUE at (604) MARYLAND  6:30 ET  BTN

Out of nowhere, Purdue has made themselves a factor in the Big Ten race by winning eight in a row (7-1 ATS). The Boilermakers opened as a Pick at Maryland and have been bumped up to -2.5. The Terps young team looks worn down and has scored more than 11 points less than season average in their past five outings at just 62.6 PPG. At the same time the defense has forced more than 10 turnovers once in their last nine games, which means no easy baskets. Which leads to Maryland committing about five more turnovers per game than whom they are playing. Expect the mentally tougher Boilers to pull this one out late and cover.

Betting Trend – 59% backing Purdue

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Purdue

CBB – (613) BUFFALO at (614) AKRON  9:35 ET  ESPN+

This is flat out amazing! The total in this MACtion action is up three points to 145.5. So what’s the big deal right, it’s Buffalo, the top scoring team in the MAC at 86.1 PPG in league play. But check this out, Akron has played eight straight Under’s and is 9-1 Under in the MAC. The Bulls road defense has been faulty in their last four away games in permitting 81.7 PPG, still the Zips only score 63.6 PPG in conference play. What happens? Both teams reach the 70’s and Buffalo goes to 11-2 OVER in road games having won two of their last three.

Betting Trend – 72% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

Here is the leading reason why Columbus went from a -130 to -145 ML home favorite over Washington in spite of losing four straight to them on their own ice. The Blue Jackets have not played since Saturday, when they won at Vegas 4-3 to extend their winning streak to three. Tonight is the Capitals third game in four days after beating Los Angeles 6-4 last night. With Washington 3-6 with no rest and Columbus 7-0 after facing three Western Conference teams, taking the more rested home team.

Betting Trend – 64% backing Columbus

Doug’s VPID Take – Columbus wins
