With so many afternoon baseball games, we just have the night action and all added the Thursday CFL contest for line moves. Take a minute to review all the betting trends, our free picks and predictions (229-182-3 run, 39-25-1 of late) to see what we are thinking today. See you back here Friday.

MLB – (957) MILWAUKEE at (958) PITTSBURGH  7:05 ET  FSWI, ATT-P

After a pair of low-scoring battles and with both starting pitchers in good form, the total on this NL Central confrontation has dipped from 8.5 to 8. The teams have split the first games, with Pittsburgh a 1-0 winner Monday and a 3-2 loser last evening. Brent Suter  (7-4, 4.30 ERA) takes the ball for the Brewers and he has a 3.18 ERA in his past three starts. Chad Kuhl (5-4, 3.76) has a 2.84 ERA in his last eight starts for Pittsburgh. With both starters having an ERA under 2.00 against their opponent and both bullpens in sharp recent form, the UNDER looks correct.

Betting Trend – 66% backing Under

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

MLB – (963) SEATTLE at (964) N.Y. YANKEES  7:05 ET  RTMW, YES

The Yankees offense finally broke out in the 7-2 win against Seattle last night, but because of their pitching, the game still went Under. Felix Hernandez (6-6, 5.44) has been inconsistent but has always pitched well against New York (3.04 ERA) and in the Bronx (2.00). In spite of this, the total has been bumped from 9 to 9.5. Seattle will face Jonathan Loaisiga (1-0) who tossed five scoreless innings in his big league debut. After last night’s result, the Yankees are 16-2 UNDER this month and 14-3 UNDER after allowing four runs or less in four straight games.

Betting Trend – 54% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

MLB – (965) TAMPA BAY at (966) HOUSTON   8:10 ET  FS-SUN, ATT-H

The Rays snapped Houston’s 12-game win streak Tuesday with a 2-1 victory. Some baseball bettors are thinking we could see more of the same with total slipping from 8 to 7.5. Though one could make a case for a lower score with Tampa Bay’s offensive woes, the Astros are 15-6 OVER vs. an AL starting pitcher whose WHIP is 1.20 or better this season, which will take me to support the OVER.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

CFL – (361) SASKATCHEWAN at (362) OTTAWA  7:30 ET  ESPN+

Because the CFL has nine teams, this will be Ottawa’s opener, having a bye in Week 1. Ottawa opened as a 3-point home favorite and have sunk to -2. The RedBlacks start the season with injuries to their offensive line and if you saw the Saskatchewan pass rush last week, Ottawa could be in real trouble. In addition, underdogs are 27-9 ATS the first two weeks of the CFL season.

Betting Trend – 77% backing Saskatchewan

Doug’s VPID Take – Saskatchewan covers

Public Consensus Record (2018) – 51% to 79% – 118-107-6 ATS

Public Consensus Record (2018) – 80% or Higher – 45-53-1 ATS

Line Movement Direction Record (2018) – 155-155-7 ATS
