With the ACC Tournament first round in the books, time to move ahead to the next round and we will be looking at the middle games on Wednesday.
No Irish Eyes Smiling Against Louisville
The shocker of the first day of the tournament was not that No.15 Notre Dame defeated No.10 Georgia Tech 78-71 since they were 1.5-point favorites to begin with. Instead, it was that the Fighting Irish scored 52 points in the first half, which is incredible for a team that has rung up only 62.7 PPG in ACC play.
For once, the Irish could not miss against the Yellow Jackets passive defense. Mike Brey team who could have won as many as four other games this season in the second half, but just not maintain leads or overcome smaller deficits. Georgia Tech rallied to within three points after being down 20, but his time the Irish finally had some fight.

Brey’s bunch will have a second look at Louisville in just 10 days, having lost to the Cardinals on the road 75-61 as 8.5-point underdogs. Notre Dame will most likely be further short-handed.
Freshman Nate Laszewski had caught fire, scoring 23 points in previous outing against Clemson and 14 yesterday in a half against the Jackets, before falling on his tailbone from about 5-feet off the ground and labored to even walk to the locker room and never returned.
Louisville will likely look to pressure Notre Dame early since they only have five players left that contribute regularly and if they can wear the Irish down, who have issues scoring anyways, the Cardinals could turn this into an easy victory and conserve energy for Thursday.
