Is Coaching Change Imminent in Edmonton?

After finishing second in the Pacific Division and making it to Game 7 of the Western Conference semi-finals, the bar was reset for Edmonton this season and they were expected to win their division.

Instead, the Oilers have been like an anvil tossed in a lake and only an awful Arizona team has prevented them from being in last place in their division. Just a month into the season, Edmonton is 5-9 SU and those that have been using them for NHL picks are in rough shape at -8 units already.

In the NHL, though the players are accountable, the front office thinking is the head coach is the problem and Todd McLellan has his fanny over the fire in his third season.

In spite of what should be a loaded offensive team, the Oilers have the fourth-worst goal differential. With a greater emphasis on special teams in the NHL, McLellan and his team are horrific, being 27th in power play percentage and dead last in killing penalties.
