After six games it comes down to this. Swinging Johnson and I go head to head one last time in the Eastern Conference Finals. Oh yea, Boston and Cleveland also play, with the winner heading to the NBA Finals.
The East Finals have played out in perfect formula basketball. The fans of the home team have gone home happy each time and those betting against the visitor for NBA picks have done the same. The other aspect is all the victories have been like your favorite pair of tennis shoes, very comfortable, with the margin of each win by 16.6 points per game. Without doing several hours of research, I would think the average spread cover of 12.75 a game has to be a record or close to for a Conference Final going this many games.
The NBA odds opened with Boston as a two-point favorite and it was swiftly moved to 2.5, with the Celtics 10-0 SU and ATS in the postseason at TD Garden. Cleveland is battered and bruised and might be without one of the top players. Do the Cavaliers really have a chance to pull this off and ruin what’s left of Swinging Johnson Memorial Day weekend? Yes they do.
For starters, my guess is Kevin Love will not play because of his history of concussions and how he reacted when he went down. From that point you could see the look on LeBron’s face, he knew what he had to do. In somewhat surprising fashion, so did others like Larry Nance Jr. and Jordan Clarkson, both who were +10 or higher in the plus/minus category. Also, Jeff Green also showed why he’s a pro’s pro with 14 points, largely filling Love’s position.

But that was at home and the Cavs are 3-5 SU and 3-4-1 ATS on the playoff road.
This is the time for veterans to show up. You know James will, but what about Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith, George Hill and Kyle Korver. How badly do they want to reach The Finals?
