More often than not, master recruiter Thad Matta has a new picture to paint each year, starting fresh with a collection of talented players. Among Matta’s multiple skills is assembling a cohesive unit that comes together quickly and does not play selfishly. Senior William Buford adds stability, but second year studs Jared Sullinger and Aaron Craft is who make this Ohio State squad. Craft is the consummate point guard, thinking pass first and making the other players better. The Buckeyes are 9-1 ATS after playing consecutive games as a home favorite.
For the first time in years, Kansas actually has depth concerns. Bill Self does have talented freshmen that will develop, however they have been overwhelmed against the better competition, meaning heavier minutes for starters like G Tyshawn Taylor and F Thomas Robinson. Another area of concern is perimeter shooting, with Elijah Johnson the only Jayhawks player showcasing a nice touch. Center Jeff Withey will have his hands full with Sullinger and has to stay out of foul trouble. The Jayhawks are 14-5 ATS after playing a home game.
