Big 12 basketball beauty

Texas at Oklahoma State
7:30ET, ESPN Line – Texas -4.5, 135.5

Cory Joseph has been big part of the Longhorns success this season.

After a few seasons of having one of the deepest rosters in college basketball, this Texas (16-3, 11-3 ATS) squad is thin by comparison. That’s not necessary a bad outcome, with Rick Barnes using mostly seven man rotation and the under the breath bickering has stopped, leading to greater team unity. Freshmen forward Tristan Thompson and guard Cory Joseph have been eager to please and fit like a saddle on this Texas horse. They’ll have to face Cowboys club that is a handful on home court. The Longhorns have had their way with quality opponents this year with 6-0 ATS record versus teams shooting 45 or higher and with a defense that permits 42 percent or less of shots made.

Will Oklahoma State (14-5, 9-4-1 ATS) be able to hold up to the rigors of Big 12 play with so many teams that have diversity of style? This will be yet another test for Cowboys squad that has surpassed pre-season beliefs. Forward Jean-Paul Olukemi is one of the top newcomers in the league and has fit in well along Darrell Williams and Marshall Moses. The backcourt has athletes that scorch the nets with the likes Keiton Page and Ray Penn as deadly shooters. The Cowboys are sizzling 8-1 ATS in home games versus teams outscoring opponents by eight or points a game the last two seasons.

Okie State is 7-6 SU & ATS when Texas hits Stillwater.
