For those betting hockey, we have just over two months in the regular season remaining, which means it is time to make push for the Stanley Cup playoffs and working on positioning also.
Here is a look who could make a run or falter for a time coming out of the second half gate against the NHL odds.
Beginning Feb. 3rd, the Ducks open up a six-game Eastern swing road trip and with an 11-15 SU record, it is not like Anaheim appears poised to pick up a lot of points along the way. For their sake they need fast start because the last two road encounters are at Washington and Minnesota.
The Blackhawks will play eight of their first nine contests away from the Windy City. While that sounds foreboding for a team that is 12-10 SU on the road, they will have winnable games at Dallas, Winnipeg, Arizona and Buffalo. If they win those and split with division rival Minnesota in the Twin Cities (2/8 and 2/21), Chicago could be poised for nice finish.
Since winning 16 in a row, the Blue Jackets are 5-6. Starting Feb. 4th, Columbus will have the opportunity to return to winning ways, playing eight of nine on home ice where they are 18-6 SU. The Jackets should be looking good for NHL picks.
Minnesota Might Go Wild
Minnesota opens with four road games, but other than possibly Edmonton on Jan. 31st, the Wild could win the other three since they are 15-5-5 away from home. Speaking of home, after the road excursion, Minnesota will be home for eight straight and are awesome 17-6 SU on home ice.
