Hard to believe most conferences are halfway thru their season and with tomorrow the first day of February, we will start the last full month of the regular season in college hoops.
Nonetheless, we keep rolling along towards March Madness and for the last day of January, we have what has become a national obsession, our two Wednesday or Hump Day underdog selections. (Jay Bilas-styled reference)
After last week, for college basketball picks, we are 13-7 ATS, 65 percent, delving into the world of dogs, underdogs that is. When looking over the multitude of college basketball odds for pooches, two stood out and they are from the ACC and the Atlantic 10.
Unless a team or two gets hot over the next six weeks, the Atlantic 10 might only have one club in the NCAA tournament and two at best. It is a given two teams that will not be in field of 68 are St. Louis (11-11, 11-8 ATS) and St. Joseph’s (9-11, 9-9 ATS). These run of the mill clubs could actually finish as high as fourth in the final standings and earn a first-round bye in the postseason tournament if they could string together victories.
