This will come as a shock to casual basketball bettors, but the deepest team in the Big 12 will not be any of the usual suspects like Kansas or Texas, it’s the Baylor Bears. Though projected Big 12 Player of the Year candidate Perry Jones III was forced to sit out the first five games of the season, it was hardly noticed, as senior Quincy Acy and freshman Quincy Miller scored in the lane and were glass-eaters. The backcourt isn’t going light up the scoreboard frequently, but competent players like Pierre Jackson and transfer Brady Heslip have played under control. Baylor is 0-6 ATS off a road win by 10 points or more the last two seasons.

BYU is a newest member of the West Coast Conference and they could add to the cache of the league with an upset of Baylor. The Cougars lack the quickness in the frontcourt to matchup with the Bears, but have the size to bang with them and hopefully be more physical. Forward Noah Hartsock has been a force in averaging almost 20 points per game and G/F Charles Abouo has been hustling to be BYU’s leading rebounder. Lead guard play will be critical as the Cougars still adjust to life after Jimmer Fredette. BYU is 10-2 ATS as a home favorite of three points or less or pick since 1997.
