2018 NFL Draft – Betting On Defensive Players and Positioning

While the NFL has taken sizeable hits publicly the last couple years, they have gotten one thing right. By further promoting the NFL Draft and taking it to different cities, the interest has skyrocketed.

Over the last several weeks, we here at SportsBookReview.com have generated several NFL Draft articles, trying to provide the latest news and opinions about what is happening in the marketplace. Of course the information is ever-changing and more than one NFL team is being coy, which will lead to stunning developments.

Oddsmakers at 5Dimes and Betonline and other top sportsbooks are dialed into what is going, but they are basing their information from many of the same resources that are available to everyone.

Today we will focus our attention on the defensive side of the ball and other thoughts for NFL picks for prop bets about this upcoming weekend draft.

2018 NFL Draft Props – Draft Position – Bradley Chub

Over 5½               +100

Under 5½            -140

Over a month ago, it was certain Bradley Chubb of N.C. State would be the first defensive player taken and that has not changed. What has changed is where he presumably will be chosen. Previously, Chubb was a Top 10 pick, but with the New York football Giants apparently not in the market for a quarterback with the second pick, they are leaning towards taking RB Saquon Barkley.

If Barkley is gone, that leaves Cleveland at No. 4 to take Chubb and give themselves young bookend defensive ends, having picked Myles Garrett a year ago. Chubb at this juncture is a better pass rusher than run defender, but is projected to be in the mode of the Ravens Terrell Suggs. The UNDER looks to be a rather safe wager.
