The PGA Tour moves back to the mainland, returning to a familiar spot in Palm Springs. This previously was the Bob Hope Open and this event seen various sponsors over the years. This pro-am event used to be 90 holes over five days played at four courses. The whining players eventually got their way and this event is now the traditional four days of golf.
Many of the sport’s biggest names will be playing at Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this weekend, collecting healthy appearance fees. That means more for everyone else and that includes Jon Rahm, reigning champ Hudson Swafford and much-loved Phil Mickelson, making his 2018 debut.
Three Course Setup for This Event
Because of the pro-am format, this tournament will be held at La Quinta CC (7,060 yards/par 72), PGA West’s Nicklaus Tournament course (7,159 yards/par 72) and the TPC Stadium Course at PGA West (7,113 yards, par 72). The final round will be at the Stadium Course, which has an interesting history.
