Sports-Watch Sports Betting Line Moves for Thursday

The Thursday afternoon scoreboard saw the Phillies and Dodgers increase as big favorites and the Red Sox Sox not unexpectedly are on the rise against Houston on the money line at Fenway Park this evening. A couple of better than 2-to-1 hockey favorites continue to blossom like spring flowers (where the temperature is above 40) and all but one NBA Playoff game has remained relatively steady. Take the time to read over the latest Line Moves as we share our opinions on the outcomes. We invite you to review the records of handicappers at Sports-Watch to see if they are accordant with how you prefer to wager.

NBA – (737) L.A. CLIPPERS at (738) MEMPHIS  9:35 ET  TNT (side and total)

L.A. ClippersIt is desperation time for Memphis, down 0-2 in the series to the Clippers. Given the Grizzlies sturdy 32-9 (23-16-2 ATS) home record, those betting on basketball are at least mildly confident Memphis can triumph in Game 3 and advanced them from -3.5 point favorites to 4.5. At least during the regular season the Grizzlies have shown they are not prone to slumps and are 8-0 ATS at home having lost two of their last three games. With the Grizz an improving fave, naturally the total has to come down with their style of play and this has been the case with the oddsmakers release down a digit to 179.5. Memphis is 11-2 UNDER in home games revenging a loss this campaign. S-W Take – L.A. Clippers cover and Under

11th Hour Sports is off to a blazing start in the NBA Playoffs.

MLB – (915) TORONTO at (916) N.Y. YANKEES  7:05 ET  RSN, YES

Toronto Blue JaysDespite all the off-season moves, Toronto is in last place in the AL East and its run differential (-29) is the third-worst in the American League. While nobody is saying the Blue Jays pitching has been stellar, the lack of offense is appalling. Toronto is 13th in runs scored in the junior circuit at 3.7 a game and this cannot overcome an underperforming pitching staff and even worse fielding. Outside of Robinson Cano, the Yankees lineup has no pop. Though Jays starter Mark Buehrle  (1-0, 5.87 ERA) has not enjoyed success against the Pinstripes (1-8, 6.15), this is not your typical Yanks lineup and the total has dipped from 8.5 to 8. New York will counter with Hiroki Kuroda (2-1, 2.35), who is 11-2 UNDER when the total is 8 to 8.5. S-W Take – Play Under

MLB – (923) L.A. ANGELS at (924) SEATTLE  10:10 ET  FSW, ROOT

The journey from the penthouse to the outhouse can be swift. The L.A. Angels were significant favorites to win the AL West and are already 5.5 games behind Texas in the division, in third place and four games under .500. The Angels lack of clutch hitting and woeful pitching (29th in runs allowed) has them at 3-7 in games determined by four or more runs, not the sign of a domineering club. Seattle has been unimpressive themselves at 8-15, yet is at least drawing support playing at Safeco Field down from +130 to +112. The Mariners will be looking for more than what starter Brandon Maurer (1-3, 7.45) has given them. Though the Halos are 3-10 under the lights this season, the M’s are 3-12 at home after a setback by four or more runs since last year. S-W Take – Los Angeles or Anaheim wins

OC Dooley is off to a terrific start on the diamond.

NHL – (19) ANAHEIM at (20) VANCOUVER   10:05 ET  NHLN

Both these Western Conference clubs are division champs and would like nothing better than meeting in the West semi-finals for the playoffs. Each team would prefer a victory to take the best of three series this season, to have a slight edge at least emotionally. Vancouver is getting the call from the wagering public, sent from -150 to -170 and they are 19-6 against offensive teams scoring 2.85 or more goals a game. Here is a potential rub; the visitor has won both contests this season and six of the last eight. This is the Ducks fourth straight road encounter and they are a sensational 7-0 in this precise situation. As an added bonus, these squads are 8-2 OVER the last 10 meetings. S-W Take – Anaheim wins
