NBA – (751) ATLANTA at (752) WASHINGTON 7:05 ET CSN-MA, FSSE
Going into Monday’s divisional tilt, both Atlanta and Washington were playing very well and it was the Wizards who stayed hot, winning 117-102 on the road as seven-point underdogs. With such a quick turnaround, naturally the Hawks were favored since they are on a 10-3 SU and ATS rollout and playing with revenge. But after an 0-5 SU and ATS bender, Washington has won five in a row (4-1 ATS) and has been switched from a one point home underdog to one digit favorite. While the Wizards have a case to be made, they are 0-8 ATS off an road win scoring 110 or more points this season.
Betting Trend – 82% backing Atlanta
Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Atlanta
NBA – (753) TORONTO at (754) BOSTON 7:35 ET CSN-NE
Having beaten Boston three straight times this season, Toronto goes for the sweep. What has keyed their success is holding down the Celtics offense, permitting them 101 points per contest compared to their season average of 106. NBA bettors have taken notice and lowered the total from 210 to 207.5. We will support the direction of line movement with the Raptors 11-2 UNDER after scoring 105 points or more in two straight games this season.
Betting Trend – 68% backing Under
Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under
NBA – (763) UTAH at (764) HOUSTON 8:05 ET ROOT-SW
There are four teams in the West competing for three playoff spots and tonight two of them meet in head to head action. Houston opened as a fairly traditional three-point home favorite, but have been lowered to -1 at most sportsbooks. The Rockets only passing interest in defense certainly plays a part in the equation (27th in points allowed), as does a 13-21-1 ATS home record. Utah is on a nice 5-1 SU and ATS move and could move ahead of Houston for the No.8 slot in the West with a victory. However, with this adjusted number, you have to think about the Jazz 12-23 SU road rmark and the fact they have lost six straight (1-5 ATS) in H-Town.
Betting Trend – 69% backing Utah
Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Houston
CBB – (775) FLORIDA at (776) GEORGE WASHINGTON 7:00 ET ESPN2
George Washington is an up-tempo team who likes to push the ball on every possession and has scored 80 or more points in four of past five outings. Florida is not as skilled at that pace but they can play that way and had success especially if the opposing team is only average defensively like the Colonials. Hoops bettors have moved the total up two points to 148 and with GW 8-2 OVER after scoring 80 or more points and the Gators are 8-1 OVER after two or more spread winners, what is not to like about higher scoring affair.
Betting Trend – 84% backing Over
Doug’s VPID Take – Play Over
