March 10, 2016

Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks, which are on sweet 31-18 run, to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

CBB – (723) VIRGINIA TECH vs. (724) MIAMI-FL 9:30 ET  ESPN

Virginia Tech has won and covered six straight with better offensive execution and bug-catching like sticky defense. Having just lambasted Miami by 15 last Saturday, not an ideal position to be in, which is why defense gets the nod in this ACC clash, with the total lowered from 142.5 to 140. This two clubs are 7-1 UNDER in latest meetings and when the total is between 140 and 149.5 points, in a game involving two good offensive teams (74-78 PPG) playing on a neutral court, after a combined score of 165 points or more like the Hokies, the UNDER is 23-5.

Betting Trend – 70% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Play Under

CBB – (747) IOWA STATE  vs. (748) OKLAHOMA  9:30 ET  ESPNU

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.comThough Oklahoma limped down the stretch at 5-4 (2-7 ATS), there are those who think they are prepared for Iowa State and like the matchup. The Sooners have been bounced from -3 to -4.5. The teams split the two contests, but the Cyclones covered both and they have enough firepower to hang around in this one. Truthfully, just not sold on Oklahoma here at a bigger number with them 8-15 ATS as a favorite this season.

Betting Trend – 53% backing Oklahoma

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Iowa State

CBB – (753) MISSISSIPPI vs. (754) ALABAMA  7:00 ET SECN

The Alabama offense resembles a NASCAR who got sideways in turn four and crashed in the wall in scoring a mere 60.6 points per game in last five outings. There is no motion, picks set or dribble penetration. Why than would the total be going up from 132.5 to 135? Mississippi is going to do whatever it takes to speed up tempo, which is more to their liking and try and drag the Crimson Tide with them. With Bama’s offense out of sync, they are 28-10 OVER away after scoring 30 points or less in the first half of two straight games.

Betting Trend – 74% backing Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Over

CBB – (785) UNLV vs. (786) FRESNO STATE  9:00 ET  CBSSN

Placed a call to good friend in Vegas and he told me the locals have driven UNLV from a Pick to +3. Nobody has any faith in this squad and they needed three OT’s to hold off Air Force. With Fresno State having won six straight (5-1 ATS), the assumption is the Bulldogs the better team and can take down the number.

Betting Trend – 96% backing Fresno State

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Fresno State
