Need to Know Line Moves and Free Picks for April 20th

April 20, 2017

In the four games we found for Thursday in the various sports, we uncovered a number of line moves, including two that had side and totals action. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (77-44 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here tomorrow.

NBA - (713) SAN ANTONIO at (714) MEMPHIS 9:30 ET  TNT

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.com In the first two games in this series, Memphis has landed on 82 points twice. Despite this, the total has headed north from 185.5 to 187. Will the comforts of home help the Grizzlies shoot over 40 percent, something they have failed to do in three straight tries. Though Memphis is 27-13 UNDER revenging a road loss of 10 points or more, the average total score of these games has been 190.1 points, leading me to agree with line movement.

Betting Trend – 85% backing Over

MLB – (905) ST. LOUIS at (906) MILWAUKEE  8:10 ET  FSMW, FSWI

St. Louis swept Pittsburgh, but only tallied six total runs in doing so and had to rely on pitching with a trio of 2-1 victories. Milwaukee on the other hand had the Cubs on the ropes in all three games at Wrigley Field, but only came away with one ‘W’ thanks to bullpen woes. Those betting baseball have noticed and have lowered the Cardinals from -132 road favorites to -120 or less. The Brew Crew has averaged 5.9 RPG in their last seven games compared to the Redbirds at 2.9, which suggests Carlos Martinez (0-2, 3.57 ERA) will have to be almost perfect. The Cards still look like the play facing Zach Davies (0-2, 8.79) and they are 13-5 at Miller Park.

Betting Trend – 77% on the St. Louis

Doug’s VPID Take – St. Louis wins

MLB – (919) SEATTLE at (920) OAKLAND  10:05 ET  RTNW, CSCA  (side and total)

Seattle takes to the road after a 6-3 homestand, but has to find answers for early road woes. The Mariners are 1-6 in the visiting gray’s and have been lowered from -175 to -150 road choice at Oakland. Why the M’s might still be the best option is because James Paxton has been thoroughly dominate, not allowing a single run in three starts covering 21 innings. Paxton has not lost in three tries against the A’s and sports a sharp 2.29 ERA. With how Seattle left-hander has pitched, the total sinking from 8 to 7.5 is no surprise. With the Mariners 15-4 at Oakland the past two years and 12-3 OVER after two games without a long ball, I will take those two wagers.

Betting Trend – 59% backing Oakland and 60% on Under

NHL – (5) CHICAGO at (6) NASHVILLE  8:05 ET  NBCSN (side and total)

Chicago is on the brink of being swept and cannot feel very confident, having lost seven in a row. In spite of this, the Blackhawks pedigree and resolve is being called upon as Nashville has been dropped from -140 to -120 or less depending on the sportsbook. Closing out a series is seldom easy, nonetheless, the Predators have been the better squad and more aggressive squad and is 11-1 at home after winning their previous game in overtime. Having held the high-flying Hawks to two goals in the series, the total has come down from 5.5 to 5 and Chicago is 6-0 UNDER after losing last game in overtime.

Betting Trend – 54% backing Nashville and 62% on Over

Doug’s VPID Take – Lean Nashville and Play Under
