With the start of baseball, on the weekends we will start looking at series wagering and offer who we think will take the series and why. Also for this Friday, have two large NBA favorites whose line moves are only growing. Take a minute to review all the betting trends and our free picks (58-32 of late), to see what we are thinking. See you back here next week.

NBA - (503) ATLANTA at (504) CLEVELAND  7:35 ET  FSSE, FSOH

www.vegasproinsidersdaily.com For all the problems Cleveland had seen over a six-week stretch, suddenly with four straight wins (3-1 ATS), they are about to clinch top seed in the East and are playing defense for the first time in some time. Atlanta helped the Cavs cause last night with a victory over Boston last night, giving them what amounts to a three-game lead with four to play because of the tie-breaker. The Hawks pulled in the 5th slot in the East with the win, but have gone from +10 to +12 point underdogs. Though Cleveland has not had many issues with Atlanta in recent years, both games have been close this season (4 and 5 point outcomes) and if the Hawks stay committed to playing defense like they have of late, they can slide under this number.

Betting Trend – 52% backing Cleveland

NBA – (515) OKLAHOMA CITY at (516) PHOENIX  10:05 ET  NBA-TV

Oklahoma City will be across from Alice Cooper’s bar and restaurant tonight (so will I for a time) and take on the setting Suns. As mentioned here recently, Phoenix is playing mostly their youngest players to get them experience and have lost 13 in a row (4-9 ATS). Those betting basketball are well aware of this and have pushed the Suns from +8 to +10 against Oklahoma City, who is probably locked in as the No.6 seed out West. Phoenix won in same exact spot at home five weeks ago over the Thunder and might be worth a peek catching double digits.

Betting Trend – 61% backing Phoenix

MLB – L.A. DODGERS (-145) at COLORADO (+125) – Series Betting

The Dodgers are favored over Colorado, but we know the Rockies can hit and have gotten off to 3-1 start. Colorado is unlikely to win Game 2 against Clayton Kershaw, but should have a chance in the first and last games of the series even if they will be underdogs. The Rocks have to win their home opener to have a shot, but I think they come up short.

Betting Trend – 83% backing L.A. Dodgers

Doug’s VPID Take – L.A. Dodgers win

MLB – CLEVELAND (-160) at ARIZONA (+135) – Series Betting

It was stunning to see Arizona take three of four against San Francisco and now they host the defending AL champions Cleveland. The Diamondbacks will be underdogs in Games 1 and 3 and the way both teams are swinging the bats, taking the OVER three times should yield a profit. As far as the series, I just lack the faith in Snakes starters Shelby Miller and Patrick Corbin right now and will back the Indians.

Betting Trend – 69% backing Cleveland

Doug’s VPID Take – Cleveland wins

MLB – SEATTLE (+105) at L.A.A. ANGELS (-125)  - Series Betting

My concern about Seattle coming into the season was do they have enough pitching and in dropping three of four to Houston, that question has not gone away. Nonetheless, at least the Mariners have a couple quality starters and if they start swinging the lumber, they should fine. The Angels have even less pitching than the M’s and with them not having much of an offense outside of Mike Trout, Troy Calhoun and now on occasionally Albert Pujols, look for Seattle to win the series.

Betting Trend – 66% backing Seattle

Doug’s VPID Take – Seattle wins
